Various sounds

I am curious about any "normal" sounds one hears while accelerating in the car.
I tested out the car I'm looking to buy again, and noticed that while accelerating, I could hear an "extra" sound come up that would happen after 4500RPM that sounded not quite like grinding but not quite like rattling, I described it to the guy as sounding like wood rubbing against wood but I'm not sure that's entirely accurate. Anyhow, the more I tried to get the sound, the more it sounded like sympathetic vibration because I could only produce it under enough throttle to get the engine roaring. At first I had thought it was transmission or clutch or something related because I'd hit it while shifting in the aforementioned revs...however I found that I could produce it without shifting, I just had to be applying a decent level of throttle in that range just right. It happened at shifting because the engine would of course have a bit extra vibration immediately after shifting since it's coming off load and because I had the throttle still going getting ready for the next gear.
Yes, maybe my shifting style stinks, I dunno...it seems to give me good 0-60's and 1/4 mile's though...and good for when I have to take off just in general...but I dunno, that's an entirely different conversation I may have later :p.
Had the car checked up and down by an Acura dealership today, though, and it checked out fine on everything. The mechanic repeatedly mentioned the guy took good car of the car. Given he makes money by saying something's wrong (and he knew this), I figured he was probably being honest.
Drove it around a bunch and did a few quick launches and such. Didn't incur any slippage on the clutch that I could see, it just went right into gear with no stutter. Grip was great, didn't feel any torque steer, and it sounded healthy other than that one sound. Anyhow, just thought I'd ask you folks since I consider many of you pretty authoritative .
