Hey, i need some help guys. a while ago i got DC Jdm 4-1 headers, and a highflow cat put in. After a while i heard this rattling noise from the cat and i got it looked at. the guy at the shop said one of the screens in the cat was rattlign around and the o2 sensor wasnt reading right because it might have gotten damaged or the air wasnt clean enough. (he didnt realy explain it. my check engine light came on. i never had him fix it cuz i dont want to give him my business. (i just used him for an answer). anyways my car's exhaust has been smelling really bad lately and im guesing its running rich but i have no idea. is there anything i could do to see which o2 sensor is malfunctioning? or is there anything i could do to find out what the problem is? please let me kknow! thank you in advance

Try going somewhere that you can have the code pulled (AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts, etc.). They usually read the codes for free and they can tell you what the code is to diagnose the problem. If you car smells bad, and I had to guess, I'd say your high flow cat is bad.

You can always have the code cleared and see if it happens again. You can also try putting your stock parts back on to see if the problem goes away. You may need to get a new high flow cat or an o2 sensor, but you won't know until you pinpoint the problem.

Generally when your cat is rattling it's bad and needs replaced. Given Carsound's track record for premature failures I'd bet that's your problem.

You can easily pull you CEL codes too, all you need is a paperclip. I'm sure the instructions and CEL codes are on this site or Honda-Tech, they've been posted it seems like a million times.

Actually you might try C-Speed Racing's site. I think they've got the procedure up there as well.
