Broken Oil Squiters

When I pulled my crank out last night I noticed that 2 oil squiters were broken off, just the metal tubes and sitting in the bottom of the oil pan. How strange is that? There were no marks on the crank, which by the way has never been taken out before. I have heard of the crank hitting them only when they were put in wrong, but htey have never been taken out either. I checked all the clearances and I was within spec for everything. I even called Baranco Acura and they had never heard of that happening. So any ideas before I put my motor back together?
