Please kindly evaluate this turbo itr on ebay

Hi everyone, my first post here. I'm in the market for a used itr, and while I was considering a bone stock one, I happened to come across the one here in this link:

I do not have much knowledge in forced reduction, so I ask you to comment on the seller's set up. From what I've been reading, it seems 3' pipe all-around is the norm, but the seller uses 2.5'. Also, the car doesn't have an intercooler. How much boost will I be able to use without an intercooler? Any other comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

it is intercooled you can see it behind the bumper. as for boost on stock internals and a better fuel system than what you get with the drag kit you could boost 9psi or so with no head gasket or anything. you will need to tune that car. I would do a compression check and leak down test on it before I bought anything like that. good luck

I don't like the drag kit in terms of fueling, it uses additional injectors that spray into the charge pipe before the throttlebody, really barbaric, if you ask me. It scares me when people install drag kits on type Rs for that sole reason. I personally know of a person that had the drag kit on his GSR and blew the motor because of unreliable fueling from the drag fuel system. The car was dynoed and air fuel checked out ok, but he never got it running right until he changed the fuel system. You are better off buying a GSR and then turbo it. I would not buy a type R with the intention of turbocharging it. I turboed mine after the fact, if I had to do it all over again, I would have bought a GSR, saved a few grand, then turboed that. You really need to know what you are doing if you turbo an ITR.

So you would not recommend the drag kit.
What would you say about using 2.5'' pipes all around?

I like the Drag components, just not the fuel system.

2.5 inch piping is too small if you want to make serious power. Larger piping allows your turbo to spool quicker - the point is to maximize the pressure drop across the turbine outlet, and you can't do that with small piping, especially if you run a big turbo like the T3/T4 hybrid.

SO TRUE. You pay for upgraded internals that don't matter that much with forced induction. I decided to supercharge my Type-R after I had owned it for a year. I loved the results, but I ended up paying for higher compression and hotter cams that didn't add much power. In fact the Type-R cams actually have more overlap than is good for a FI car. Some guys swap GSR cams into their supercharged Rs. I don't know how much a LSD costs, but the other upgrades like stabilizer bars and suspension can be added pretty cheaply to a GSR. The spoiler looks nice, but I don't think it adds much to performance. Same with the 5-lug wheels; I'm sure they are safer, but it takes a lot to tear loose a 4-lug wheel.
