Close call today

I came close to hitting some lady who crossed 4 lanes in one shot without looking if the lane is clear.

Going west on Beaumont near Rockland, some woman came out from McDonald's without checking if the right lane, which I was on, is clear. I guess she figured that since the driver on the left lane let her out that the right lane was clear to go. NOT!! I'm on that lane. As I approach her car as the ABS kicked in, I had no choice but to go the snow bank which was pretty compacted. I don't know how close to her I was but I do remember not seeing her rear tires. You make the calculations. Did she stop or noticed what happened... no. Everyone looked pretty astonished as they passed by as they thought that there would be an impact. Of course, no one offered any help. So I had to dig myself out by remove all the snow below the car. I called CAA. 1 hour later, I was free to go. I called back CAA to let them know that I was out of trouble.

My lesson today, don't take any chances in winter. Check and double check for possible stupidities. (A colleague of mine got nailed as someone turned in too fast and slide into her!)

Hey Budman,

basically they are refering to the shitty driving habits many Montrealers have when the snow falls. Some even mentioned that they have winter beaters so that they save their ride any unneeded damage.

Blaak, any damage? Let me know and i will see if I can help.

A note to all my French speaking buddies... I think it would be in the best interest of this board that we continue posting in English as this is a US board with 100% English content. I know you all can speak and write English as you are able to use the internet, so show a little respect to our neighbors down south that have been so gracious to offer us our own forum. BTW, you wouldn't want the TO crowd to feel alienated.....
Carry on :D
