or will it be just like a 98, 00,and 01? more or less is there a way of finding out true # of type rs sent in 97? this is what ive been told:
97=300
98=1025
00=1500
01=1500
also is there any way of finding out how many 97s are still left with a clean title? or how many that have been wrecked? if you had a 97 would it be better to keep all stock?

i'm not clear on the exact number but i know it's more than 300 because mine is 364. what i do know is that it's less than the number they originally gave the public. which was 500. the reason was that the 97 itr were having trouble passing some EPA requirement so they couldn't get all 500 in.

awhile back, someone posted on honda-tech.com a letter they got back from AOA stating the number of 1997 ITRs sold in the US. if i remember correctly, it was in the 700's.
good luck trying to figure out how many's been totaled or stolen....just no way of doing it.

318 according to the letter. WHich brings up an interesting question. Might have lost a few down low to EPA and gotten 318 actual imported.

Well, I think we can safely assume that there are less than 300 left with clean titles
I certainly think that '97 ITR's should be considered collectible cars, and that a pure stock vehicle can be of higher value. This situation is likely to be amplified as time passes.

I believe the 97 will be the R that holds the best value.

Of course the '97s will be most valuable. That's the year with the fewest, and its the only year that is any different from 98,00,01. Not to say the other R's won't be collector's items, but the '97 will be the MOST sought after. After that, I think all CW's will be most valuable and most sought after.
