Whats up guys. I love ITR's and never thought about joing the itrca because i dont have one but i realize thats not what its all about. Anyways, ill be quite honest and admit that i am not the most mechanically inclined person but only because i have only had my car for about six months. None the less i am interested in learning more about my car from people who know. Well i have a 2000 si with a jdm itr b18c, dc 4-2-1 header, and thats it as we speak. I mean my suspension has a nice set up but as far as motor and bolt-ons thats it. My question for you all is with having my swap done would it pay off to have my car dynoed for any reason. Is there anything to really tune? My ecu isnt chipped or anything its just a stock p73. Would a VAFC be a good investment at this time? TIA and hope to hear back from you guys.

I would dyno it and see where you stand first, but yes a VAFC can be usefull.

instead of the vafc, get your basic bolt on first. intake and exhaust since u have headers already. then dyno it before and after to see what numbers u pull.

WELCOME!!

The one thing I am disappointed with my car is that I bought it 11 months old (nov '99) & some of the bolt-ons were already installed, but not tuned. I'll never know what the car made stock.

I think it's highly worth doing a baseline before adding your bolt-ons. At least do a run from where you are at before adding more if you don't want to pull the header off. It gives you a feel for "bang-for-buck" & whether your $$ is well spent as you build any car.

Sorry, i do have an exhaust as well. Its a 5zigen catback. The only thing i really need yet is a intake which i was going to go with the Comptech Icebox. I have a question about the fitting of my icebox if i were to get one though. My the intake manifold on my B18C is larger then the one that was on my B16 but i must by the icebox to fit an si's B16. Will it all still work or this a dumb question.

personally (after long comparing and contrasting) I found that Hondata would be a better investment for the long run. A VAFC (preferably the newer VAFC-II) is a great thing to have if you just wanna lower the VTEC switch and take away some fuel (lean out the car), but with hondata you would have a better base map to work from (im going with a Kenji ECU - chipped p06 and obd-i harness) and then going with hondata later on down the line. Either way you go...get it DYNO TUNED!
