Oil Filter question

Hello. Im a new Pheonix Yellow Type-R owner in Southern California.
(00-0251)

Before he left his car with me, the previous owner told me to use the S2000's filter when changing oil, instead of the normal one. Apparently the two cars used the same filter before, but the Type-R was given a different one later on?

I am approaching my next oil change and would like some light shed on this so I know whether or not to take his advice.

Thanks.

At the acura dealers they use the 15400-POH-305 honda oil filter for the integra model. I believe that it is the same oil filter for the s2k.

The Integra Oil filter part number just changed. They now offer the same oil filter the RSX uses which is very small. I personally use HAMP filters.

You can get them at http://www.passwordjdm.com

Thisis true now all the acuras except the slx, nsx, 96-98 3.2 tl's,and the 80's acuras use the rsx oil filter. Which is just smaller than the previous filter.

I can't find them on that JDM website....they're 12 bucks though? Why are they so much better than OEM filters?

Just go w/ OEM if you're not tracking your car. Although they may me made by FRAM, they are of better quality and construction than the Wally world garbage you can pick up for 2 bucks. Going for the S2K filter is in my opinion a waste of money.
