JDM hood latch antitheft alternative

[Type R 98]

does anyone know if my original USDM hood latch cable could be long enuff to just turn the latch around to make it work with the jdm piece and relocalize it in the glove compartment which would be locked. or would i be better off spending the extra money and doing that with the 90-93 and relocalize that one in the dash... i can't quite figure out on my own if the usdm one would work.. thanks guys
