Tire pressure...

I have stock Rims with Yokahoma ES-100's on them 205-55's and i have them at 33psi and even when im driving and barley let off the clutch i get massave wheel hop alot (more then i think i should get b/c im not drivin like a A55 whole and flooring it every where i go im just driving normal i dont know if i have too much air in my tires or what i cant figure it out...

Do you have an aftermarket clutch and/or light weight flywheel? Have you checked your motor mounts? Your tire choice should not really affect wheel hop unless you're launching a car at the drag strip.

nope everything else is stock... how would i check my motor mounts to know if there bad???

I get the same thing although I have the stock 195's at 35 psi. I chalk it up to the fact that they are summer tires. I'm hoppin' like a freakin' rabbit whenever I take off. I think I'm gonna get some motor mount inserts and see if that helps.

I don't think that's a good size for the ITR. Outer diameter is too big. Plus they're $19/tire more expensive than the stock size.
The recommended pressures of 35F/33R seem to work fine on the ES100 in the stock 195/55-15 size.
But I agree - any lack of traction at this time of year is probably due to cold temperatures. Summer tires (like the ES100) are designed to be used in warmer temperatures. In February, winter tires will grip much better - even when the roads are dry - because they are designed to be used in colder temperatures.
