mugen ECU or V-AFCII? which one do you prefer...cant decide

How about some more info about what's been done to the car?

I don't see how people figure that questions can be answered when virually no information has been provided.

Which one is preferred is based completely upon what has been done with the car. If you don't give any specifics about what is on the car, how can we tell you which management solution we'd prefer? If the car has been modified exactly the way the mugen ecu was designed for, that's one thing, if it hasn't that's another...

ok how about this, people list wheather they have the mugen ecu or the V-AFCII and list your mods. does that make a more reasonable statement? I posted because i was curious which one people liked more....again you said if i dont give any specifications on what is on my car...we are not talking about my car!!!! We are talking about all of your cars....so i still dont see how my question cant be answered?????

The mugen ECO ONLY applies to people who have a car setup like the ECU was tuned for. technically that was with all mugen parts. point is no one has a mugen ECU because they don't have a mugen specific setup so using it would be silly.

Your best bet would be a VAFC. A mugen ECU is a static setup that gives you no flexibility based on your engine and mods (which can both vary).

I have a Mugen ECU and the difference is quite noticeable. I believe you are right about the Mugen setup, but Mugen took that knowledge from the cars with that specific setup and generalized it for say the ITR. (for which it is applicable). Now as far as flexibility is concerned then the Mugen ECU offers vary few if any, but the SAFC2 which I also Have offers a lot more for a variety of tunning. Needless to say Mugen... Good Safc2...Even Better... Skipping all the bullshit and going to Hondata... (you know it) Priceless. :twisted:

MUGEN ECU is not worth the amount of money!

just get a programmable one, and have a reputable shop program it for you...

Why not go with Hondata? Mugen ECU is big $$ and is not tunable. I have a Kenji OBD-I ECU on order with 5,500 VETC eng. and 9,000 rev limit. As soon as these damn tax returns hurry up I will be getting a Hondata s100 system and getting it dyno tuned. jm2c

Hondata>Power FC>Mugen>VAFC (b/c of tunability and price)

Well maybe sometimes ppl find good deals on these ECUs, and they do not pay full retail price $1000+. I've been running on a genuine Spoon ECU P73, none of that p28 chipped BS, I can't honestly say its any different than just a chipped ECU, but all I know is that it does make a difference how the engine performs.

I couldnt agree anymore that Hondata is the best way to go, if you have the time and money, shoot for it. Next week, my car will be going on the dyno with hondata s100.

Getting rid of the V-AFC and Spoon ECU. Was fun, but no longer needed. :D
