Hey does anyone know the tax rate around the Toronto area for a car? I'm not from around there :cry:

what do you mean? If you live here and buy new or used car @ dealer you pay the GST 7% and PST 8%. If you buy privately you only pay the PST when you register the car. I'm not sure how it would work if you buy here and bring it back home. Contact coustoms or something?

Ha, the way things are shaping up i'll probably just but a PY here in texas. Too bad i couldn't get my hands on a CND spec :cry:

so why did u want the cdn spec if u don't mind me asking were u looking at the 2001 model cuz it came with red interior and our speed dials read in km/h first? just curious.

i mainly wanted the canadian spec b/c they came in white in the 2000 and 2001 version. Most championship white's in the US had many miles on them since they were all 97's or 98's. I also liked the seats on the Canadian spec and the fact they came with the 98 USDM shift nob. Plus people seemed to sell their R's for cheaper in Canada after the currency change.

The canuk's seem to like $22k canadian for their car which comes out to $16,417 American currency (given a 1.34 exchange rate, which is normal now).
