Is it truethat the 2000 and 2001 ITRs are faster than the 97-98 ITRs...if so why is that and by how much...j/w

if your talking about usdm itrs they didnt make it in 99.

Sure they did, just not imported into the US.

AS for the times, they should be with in a tenth of each other. nothing more then a difference in the cam.

I've also heard that the 2000-01 are a bit faster. I guess the difference is slightly noticed, unless your a skilled experienced race driver. :twisted:

I heard that the pistons on the 00-01s are slightly better then the ones on the 97-98s.....

The intake cam on 2000-2001 is different than 97-98. IIRC it's the CTR intake cam.

the only diff is the intake cam. its a tad bit more aggressive but not by much more...

pistons are the same, intake cam is different.

but what also is over looked is the ECU. now THAT is different as well.

I read 97-98 run 15.1
00'-01's run 14.7

That was car and driver I believe. I may be wrong on the mag but not the #'s. There are just too many variables to be sure if anyone year was built "faster" than other's.

Intake cam is the only difference between the two motors..

1997 Acura Integra Type R 7.0 15.3
1998 Acura Integra Type R 6.6 15.1
2000 Acura Integra Type R 6.2 14.8

4/10ths difference between the years. I don't have any numbers on the 01 model.
