Comptech Sport Springs

Hello,
I was interested in putting a coilover suspension on my car, but before I went to order I luckily checked the ground clearance when pulling into my garage. If I lower my car more than an inch, the center of my car will scrape the ground, and even at an inch I may scrape if I don't take just the right path as I pull in. I can no longer justify the expense of coilovers and cornerweighting my car if I'm only going to drop it about 3/4".
So...
I am now thinking about using the Comptech Sport Springs on my otherwise stock suspension. These lower the car an additional 1/2 - 3/4". My car has 67,000 relatively pothole free miles, so one concern I have is if my shocks will blow out significantly sooner. My other concern is if this is likely to improve the cars handling any, or just make it look slightly cooler . I am looking for both.
Thanks,
Tony Alvarez
