stock Type R tires

Hi all
My stock performance tires on my 2001 Type R are almost finished and I was wondering if anyone knows of a good place to buy the same types of tires for a good price.
I really want to avoid buying the tires from the acura dealer. They already rip me off enough on the inspection and oil changes costs.
thanks

Tell us more about how you drive and what you need from the tires. Here are some examples:
All season, daily driving: Falken 512s
Daily driving - only occaisional rain: kumho 712s
Drive to the track & run'em (road courses or autocross): Falken Azenis, Kumho MX, Bridgeston SO2s
R-Compound Track tires = Toyo RA1s (
from Mike's NTB store)
Does that help?

thanks for the reply BudMan
I just want to get the same kind of tires that came with the Type R when I bought it in 2001.
I only drive the car in the summer, here in montreal, canada. I don't go a lot to the track, but if i go, like only once or twice a year, i would just go for fun to do quarter miles runs
So far, i am pretty happy with the potenza tires that came with the car, and this is what i am looking for. I am trying to find out if i can buy a new set of these tires from somewhere for a good price because they would be pretty expensive at the acura dealership
thanks

Hankook tires

While the OE Bridgestone tires work real well for the ITR, anyone who uses the car to its potential, knows that we can improve on OE in the tire dept.
For the Montreal streets and the kind of weather we have , I would recommend first going from 195 to a 205/50 aspect tire.
Next , I can recommend one of 2 Hankook tires that have been tested and enjoyed by many of our customers.
The K104 high performance street tire. Great dry ability, supreme wet grip and long lasting tread.
The Z212 is the ultimate street performance tire. Following the lead of Falken , with the Azenis, Hankook has released the Z212 which will be very popular in ST racing autoslalom.
We have some deals going on over atthe shop and it would be my pleasure to advise you and I can offer a ITRCA rebate.

Check out these deals...in CDN dollars obviously.

how's the wear on the Z212?
For a person lime I guess the K104 would be plenty?
A bit of track, and maybe 7-8k km over one summer
I might stop in may to get a set

From what we have tested so far Eric, the K104 is very long lasting. My street customers are getting over 2 summers worth of mileage and the race guys are doing a whole season on a shaved set.
In the wet, the K104's have no equal. So far as to say that last fall at Tremblant, in the pouring rain, guys swapped of the full tread RA1's in favor of the K104's.
Personally, I will run a set of Z212's for testing purposes. If they are anything like the Z211's, they should be a blast to drive on . Word has is that they are more durable than the Azenis Rt-215.
It would be my pleasure to take personal care of the CCQ president if he chose to purchase tires at our place. let me know if you need a deal.

Is the Cooper zeon 2xs as good as the Hankook K104? They seem to be the same tire, but are they really? Do we pay more for the Hankook because of the brand or it is better?
