WOW, some people are just presumptuous today!

This is evidently because of his issue with the wheels he was not able to purchase, and because Rely Net wouldn't send its cyber-enforcement squadron after the seller.

There's really nothing we can do about a seller's decision to sell his wheels to someone.
Hey GK, want to know the truth?
I don't want to host the Thanksgiving meet because of you.
I'm sure you would want the truth, right?

You should have stepped in when things were getting heated and done your job reguarding that matter on another forum but it just seems that you don't have the common sense to do the right thing.

If I had the Thanksgiving meet and you showed up We would have words and I would rather be the better man and not show up. This is why I cancelled the meet. Your such a pompous fool it amazes me.

There was no job to do. You were being stupid.

You demanded the censure of a member who simply sold something for what was perceived by him to be the best deal.

That is his right, as far as I can tell.

Rob, this is a tough one for me because you and George are both friends of mine and you have evidently determined that you can't be in the same room with him over his failure to take some action that you felt was warranted.

In the end, you didn't lose any money. You weren't scammed. Someone just decided to exercise his prerogative, which happened to be a bit unfair to you. But wtf? It's just the internet. It's just a set of wheels. It's just $160 thats still in your pocket. So why all the hostility?

Now if you reversed the complete situation, I'm sure that I would be catching some sort of flack for that. Yes I did ask for a shipping quote because I don't know how he would have shipped the rims (btw I need really bad). If I got an estimate it might have been either too high or too low, I doubt I would have gotten it right on the first attempt. If I had low balled unintentionally, the guy might have gotten pissed and thought I was not serious and I feel that if you loose the first shot at a deal it's bound to move to the next buyer. Or if I paid too high... well we know. And at the price he was selling for and my broke ass I needed to be on point and decisive.
I'm glad I did not send any money, I most likely would have lost money that I can't afford to lose.
I have no hostility, I just decided to use my best judgment and not to be involved in the meet. If you're referring to me having words, they are just that. I don't hold punches and speak my mind, even if that would or will cost me a friend- silly, maybe... But just how I have been and that is part of my character.
As for your statement.. "I can't understand why he's doing this"
I have said over and over that HT was going down the toobzez for a while. And it is the general population mostly the noobies not the "OG" members.

I choose not to post there anymore, this has been a decision that I have been dwelling over for a while and,,, well... Now was the time.

Does that answer some of your questions?

The biggest loss to Honda Tech has been a current group who consider themselves "OG" having abused the real Old Guard with their stupid pseudo-techno knowledge and bandwagoneering.

The loss of people like Chris Connelly and Steve Sakai was a huge loss as far as the technical base, and it's the current crop of "OG" who were responsible for that.

I find it therefore ironic that some of these people, really just noobies themselves, are complaining about having to actually be of good help to new people.

The newest people are ignorant, but it is an honest ignorance, and if we cannot honestly help them through this period of their ignorance, then, no, we do not belong at Honda Tech.

I'd really rather not drop names, but I am sure you know what I mean if I referred to groups of people who acted like they had tenure and more rights than a new member, when in fact those groups appear to contribute little useful advice.

Yeah but now you got me all curious.

Now stop fighting or I'll ban you both! :)

And you are so perfect. I can't believe I'm reading all this.

Bow to the OG. Whatever the hell OG means anyways. The all knowing, all useful, ever powerful OG. I'm so tired of these little stabs at honda-tech membership, then all this muscle flexing about how GREAT honda-tech is, how its so much better than every other honda site. I can think of at least one that is much better run and CONTROLLED.

I've done my part with expo the last 3 years and after all, it is an internet forum. Lets discuss who is cooler and who is more entitled to 'respect' on h-t, lol. this is retarded.
