I'm thinking of buying a Black Integra Type-R, and upon purchasing it, I would like to put a set of 18x8 Black Speedline Corse Type 2017 Wheels on it. Would these be too big? If so, what other wheels would you reccomend? Thanks for your time...

the type R suspension is set up for a fifteen inch wheels so I would Not go over a 16
I had 17s on it at one time and my gas mileage went to crap and it didnt handle so good
so unless you want a show car or something I wouldnt recomend putting a wheel that big on it
(if you want a show car you should have just got a GSr and put stickers on it)

Okay, thanks for the reply, and no, I don't want a show car, just that the Speedlines would of looked awesome on this car...

aside from the performance aspect, I've never really liked large rims...too big and your wheels start too look like bicycle tires.

Don't you think the stock rims look nice as they are? I love my Championship White rims with the Acura logo in the center...

Personally I think 18s on an ITR borders on craziness..I think 16 would be as large as I would go. However I believe Realtime uses 17s on their race cars so maybe they know something I dont...

I would stop at 17. 18 is just rediculous. Plus with the 18, you can't even drop the car. It will look rally spec.

Probably to clear the Brembos.

Realtime only has twelve inch discs, because that is all that their series allows. 16's would work. However with a properly tuned suspension, 17's are great, you just need more tire than a 205/40. They run 225/45 which helps put more tread(usable) to the ground. Just a thought to play with!

My 98 R has 18x7.5 TE-37'S and I have lowering springs on and, my car still corners better then any other

Realtime runs 17's for a few reasons...1st SVWC touring mandates them...although they gave the ITR's a break for 2 years.
2nd...there are more choices of tires sizes in 17 in Toyo spec T1s
3rd.....more stability on high speed tracks and sometimes more gearing.

But if it were solely their choice...as it was since the beginning....15 is the way to go.

Better than any other what? R with 18's? Tires alone are a reason NOT to have 18's for me.

You remind me of myself in my naive days when I thought 18s were cool.
There is no logical reason to run 18's on your R. I made this stupid mistake too. I am currently running my stock rims which are extremely light weight and well balanced. Do yourself a favor, spend the money wisely, 18s will definitely slow you down, are virtually impossible to balance, are very heavy, and besides, are not cool. What is cool is stock ITR rims. When I had my 18s, many people were after my stockers. I am currently running a turbo on my car and wish I had the $2300 I spent on rims/tires to spend on stand-alone engine management, oh well, lesson learned.

The 18's were on my car when I got it. I ment it handled better then most cars not better then most type R's

Hey DopeStar! Dont make any excuses for your 18's on your car, if you like them, keep them! I think 18's would look Awesome on a Type R, but since I plan on Auto-X, I will stick with my 15's.

With 18's and 19's(yes I said 19's it fits..but not highly recomended for street use) is nice for shows but not for street use. I had 18's before for several months and sold them real quick. I prefer 15's or 16's for performance and any bigger is for shows.

Personally, bronze 15'' Slipstreams on Hoosiers for the track are hard to beat. And to tone down for the street......bronze Sub-Zeroes on Toyo Ra-1's again, hard to beat. Bring on those 18'' for cornering, braking and acceleration any time.

First 8 inch width of those wheels would probably rub like crazy. Go for a nice, lightweight pair of 16's for looks and performance.
