Well I got this in the mail yesterday and I can't wait to slap it on...
Thanks Brad for your big time hook up, I really appreciate it!

Does anyone have any tips they care to share about this? such as mounting, running lines or placement? I have only installed these on V8s in the past and never a 4banger... But It does look simple and straight foward.

Now for the only pic I have, but I'll be taking many more while installing it and when it's mounted. ( if any one cares)

fun. Welcome to the coolered oil club. :P Does that block adapter have a thermostat in it? I'd really suggest one, if not. Just make sure you find a way to mount it really solidly. :)

Yes it does have a thermo, but why do I need it?

Now I actually got off my ass and started to install it, but the hose supplied was too short and no stores were open when I relized...

But here are some pics of the carange

Yowza! That thing is huge. The thermostat keeps the oil out of the cooler until the oil is up to opperating temp. Its not really needed, but if you don't let your car warm up and jump in and start driving it will take longer to reach opperating temp.

Looks good Rob.

Understood, And yeah it's big... almost too big to fit. that is why I had to undo that piece I pointed ouch too... It needed the extra room

How much more efficient is that cooler VS. the stock cooler?

Just from the design of it it should be a lot more efficient, it's in the direct path of air and is way bigger. Since I don't have a oil temp guage I'll never know... But one day I'll get one hooked up.

Are there any Oil cooler users that have a before and after temp reading to share?

I know my stock cooler seems to turn on at about 180 degrees according to my pillar temp gauge. It turns off again at about 160. I that helps any.

I experienced track oil temps of 315F+ in 100 degree weather before the cooler and since the cooler my track temps never break 220F or so.

Street driving I would normally see a temp range of 200-240 and now it almost never goes over 180-190. (thermostat opens at 180)

Definitely made a huge difference for me. :)

I'm pretty sure that the stock oil cooler is just always opperating. Its just a circular colllar around the oil filter line that has coolant running through it at all times.

GReddy one is too small. I can hit over 300 with it. :) But I think I have it partly fixed, more venting under the hood.
