Sorry this is about a month or so old now but I don't come here to often. Thought I would update the guys that don't visit Honda-Tech with my new best.

Car: 2001 Type-R.
Mods: AEM CAI, JDM DC header, test pipe, STOCK EXHAUST, STOCK WEIGHT, no other mods. Running on Potenza SO-3's (not drag radials).

60'....2.1 ( have hit a 2.0 on a different occasion)
1/8mi....8.8@81mph
1/4mi....13.737@100.4mph (best trap of 100.7mph)

Backed it up with another 13.7, two 13.8's, and a few 13.9's.

What have you taken out of the car? Spare tire, Jack, Passenger seat, back seat?

Weighed th car right before you race?

I say stock weight even though I had my spare tire/jack and rear seat out (passenger seat was still in) because I was running on my heavier than stock CRV rims which IMO cancel out any of my weight savings.

you know what, i'm amazed that you guys can pull times in the high 13s stock. i don't drag race but, i track my itr at the race track. one time i was following this s2000 and i was faster than him in the corners because i had stickier tires but, as we were approaching the straight away i was on his bumper. when we hit hit the straight he just walked away from me (about 3 car lengths) it took me about 5 turns to catch back up to him.

now if memory serves me right, i think the s2000 does a 13.8 1/4 mile then how are stock type-rs doing the same when i know the s2000 is faster. i know you guys are telling the truth, don't get me wrong but, i was wondering if anyone knew the answer.

My R isn't stock. It doesn't have many mods but it still isn't stock. Bone stock vs bone stock an S2000 is faster. Most S2000's aren't in the 13's anyway because you have to launch them high and the clutch can't take the abuse. It's more common to see them running mid-low 14's at the strip.

I hit a 13.95@102 mph. with a 2.4 60ft.

I don't mean to sound like a hater, but that seems really fast to me. What was the altitude and temp outside. I have never heard of a type r doing anywhere near a high 13 with intake and header. Are you using a g-tech pro to back this up, or is this at a real race track. If you do the math HP, weight, distance, I don;t think that physice would allow it.
Just my thoughts, but if it is true... good job and congrats.

I have a 98R that is runing 13.83 with intake, header stock exhaust, ATS Final Drive and full interior. I totally believe this is possible. On street tires.

i've seen the time slips. the times are legit. it pays to know how to drive. also pays to know how to launch. congrats again.

Active Aero, how do you launch your car? my car has similar mods and i would kill for a 13.7. im at 6000 ft in colorado, so its probably impossible, but maybe close. thanks.

My best launches were from around 7,000rpms. I rode the clutch slightly and modulated the throttle. Best 60' on street tires was a 2.05. I more consistently pulled 2.1's. At that elevation don't count on running 13's unless they have some sort of correction for elevation. That's pretty darn high.

You are launchin at 7000 rpm? What are you dropping your tire pressure to? I run 15.08 @ 93mph. I launched at 5000 rpm and got major wheel hop. My 60' is 2.5. I did burnout before, that might be part of the problem. where are you guys shifting at? I think I should be in the mid 14's with a header cat and CAI with stock exhaust.

I'll have to try this next time at the track. I usually launch at a slightly lower rpm.

My best was run a couple of weeks ago (13.6 @ 101.4 mph w/a 2.2 60 ft ).
Mods are Mugen ECU and Spoon header.

fast

Those are very quick times for an all motor car, impressive!
I'd like to know the parameters they use in that Mugen ECU!!
