So I dont get flamed, I'll start out like this. My name is Jason, age 28, from louisiana, long time honda guy. I'm currently in a 05' STi. Anyways I miss my honda dearly, so I will be purchasing a 96' spec rhd itr. Its currently in gulf port mississippi and is registered. I've done as much research as possible (via here, hondatech, the web) and have seen the car in person. It looks like the real thing but i'm wondering or asking all of you itr gooroos what should I look for in general? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nice choice! well i know when i picked mine up, i just looked at the VIN# on the firewall to the one on the plaque on rad support, but then again if it was a half car, they would match anyways. There isnt a whole lot different from the North American models, besides the obvious.
Post some pics up when u get a chance!

does it run right?
does the paint and body look ok?
Is the suspension working properly?
be a little more specific and I'll try my best to help. I don't even know where to start.

sorry, I was meaning more as the plate on the radiator support and firewall numbers matching. Just things that would identify the car as being a true rhd jdm type-r. thanks again.

Honestly... I have no clue how to help you on this. But I bet Reid could. Lets hope that he stops in and has the time to respond.

hey i own jdm type r the key things you should look for are the blue serial numbers on the door jams and the radiator support also ask for the deregistration from japan so you know the car isn't stolen from japan if you car you have is the one im thinking you should be all set thou my guy has seen it and its legit he actually sells skylines out of gulfport
