Thats why I always keep bolt cutters and a small amount of plastic explosive in my car.

Why a jdm itr trans? just wondering.

You can... get a gsr trans, put a 4.785 FD in it, if you are really nutso, you can put itr 1-2-3 in it.

Or.. usdm trans, change 4-5 and get a 4.785 FD.

JDM Trans are hard to find... JDM GSR trans is the same ratios IIRC. Some jdm gsr have fd, some don't.

i realize that would not be NEW, but i honestly cannot recall ever seeing a NEW jdm itr trans for sale. ever.

Because I also have never seen a new one for sale and in time I'll need a tranny for pos. And since this seems to be a hard item to find... I'd start asking now.

new trans? dont you mean you'll need to rebuild it, new syncros, etc?

i would be easier to build yours to jdm itr trans spec than to find a new jdm itr trans.

It's been rebuilt a few times already and even has a new case. It's just time for a completely new unit. Either US or JP, but since I had the bug to ask about where to find a JDM tranns, I thought I would bother the ITR world.

Does Honda even make JDM ITR transmissions anymore? I know here in the US, automakers must make/provide parts for vehicles for like 10 years afterwards, but does Japan have a similar law? Perhaps you could check with one of the Expo sponsors who import from Japan, like King Motorsports. They may have someone over in Japan who could pick one up from Honda, or some other place, and ship it over. That's where I would start :D
<--- Intrigued by this quest and in for an answer.

Being that the USDM ITR's were shipped over here from Japan. Then the USDM tranny's were/are manufactured in Japan. I know where to get new USDM ITR tranny's for 1600-1800. Not JDM one's though...

LOL. Is this for reasons found here?

http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread/1769284

What I would do is contact Reid and ask him. He'd know just how to get ahold of a new one. Your gonna get butt raped on price though. Trans plus over seas shipping on that are gonna be a biotch.

It's an improper link. Dave made it:

Code: Select all

http://www.itrca.com/forums/vi...60202
When it should be in this format:

Code: Select all

http://www.itrca.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=xxxx
or

http://www.itrca.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=xxxx#xxxx
P.S. Don't try replacing the xxxx with the number, there are sometimes different variables involved (such as directing to specific post in a thread, as demostrated in the last example) that won't make it work. As present in this case.

that link looks like it came from h-t or a site that shortens linked text.

if you have [url = http://blah blah blah ] and the linked text is the same as the url, if over a certain length it will shorten the text you see.

i highly doubt someone did that intentionally, looks like a copied / pasted link from h-t.

All I hear is blah blah blah. It wasn't the edited post, I closed the link and then came back to it and once I came back to it, I clicked the thread and then copied the link at the top. So you mean to tell me I can't do that? I totally understand the edited or temp ones when you post a reply and how all that won't work, but knowing that I left the thread, then went to another and then back to it to copy the link just as I always do.

While I don't see what I'm looking for. I came across this bit of info:
Image
integra type r dc2
integra type r1995. 9 : Honda announced the release of the Honda DC2 Integra type R that features enhanced driving performance. Type-R stands for Racing. The Honda Integra type R is powered by the B18C 1.8 liter DOHC VTEC engine, specifically developed for the Honda Integra type-R, with 200 horsepower at 8000rpm (111PS/liter). The 4 door hard-top and the 3 door coupe are available. Standard equipment includes a Helical LSD, performance rods, hard type suspension, a front lip spoiler, a rear spoiler, alloy wheels, a leather wrapped MOMO steering wheel, RECARO seats, and a titanium shift knob.

1998. 1 : There were some minor changes. To enable the higher torque at low and mid rpm levels, exhaust performance has been improved by employing the equal-length 4-in-1 style stainless steel exhaust manifold. And suspension and brakes have been improved to maximize driving performance and handling. Tire size is increased to 215/45ZR16. Furthermore, the Integra type R 98 Spec adopts 15-inch front disk brakes, 14-inch rear disk brakes, newly designed 5-hole 16-inch alloy wheels, completely retuned suspension, SRS airbag-compatible steering wheel designed by MOMO, High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights with twice the brightness of halogen lamps.

1999.7 : The serial number stamp which shows the order of manufacture is started.

1999.12 : The Honda Integra type-Rx was added to the Integra type-R series. The Honda Integra type-Rx features body colored retractable electric door mirrors, keyless entry unlock system, a digital quartz clock, privacy glass( rear quarter right/rear window), aluminum sports pedals, air conditioning, and power antenna.
But thanks you for helping out!

I talked to an Acura OEM dealder today and he said he just purchased a brand new USDM ITR Trans for $2000 and at the time there was only 8 in the country, I guess it's a cunt to get. And I took his word for it, he had a pile of cars with ITR swaps

They're not that expensive from most acura dealerships. Either way, Rob is looking for a JDM tranny.

It's true I'm looking for a new jdm tranny, but it seems to be rather hard to find :?

I know what ur looking for Rob, but, my trans was used and it came in alot better shape than my stock one. I know its a risk period, but I'm beginning to doubt the possibility of getting a brand new. Have we heard back from Reid?
