Hey guys,

Just wanted to say hi. I bought a used stock 98 type r from japan and will be picking it up in 2 days (I'm in korea btw). Currently a s2000 owner but will be selling since I haven't been driving it much. I have always been a big fan of the type r so here's my chance to finally own one. Although not new to hondas, I am a little unfamiliar with the type r. It has 60k miles on it and looks to be in very good condition. If you have any advice please shoot them my way. All help is greatly appreciated. Will post pics when I get the car! Thanks.

Thanks guys. I'm really really excited...picking up my car tomorrow. The good thing is I have to drive it back about 6 hrs after I pick it up from port so it'll give me time to get to know the car. Hopefully I can tear myself off from the car long enough to take some pics for you guys :)

I drove my R for 13 hours straight from virginia to miami what a ride.I made great time and got around 347 miles to the tank mostly on I-95. Careful with wet roads if you happen to encounter them. I would recommend getting some oil incase you burn some maybe you wont. Other than that my 13 hour ride was great i hope your 6 hour drive is a safe 1 and enjoy her. I myself was torn between a R or S2k after the test drive's i learnd the R was a better fit for me. Im new here and got a warm welcome to itrca i wish the same upon you. Congrats

Just picked up the car yesterday and drove for 8 hrs from pusan to seoul. All I have to say is this car is so much fun to drive...and its weird driving on the right side but I'm getting used to it. Maybe it's cause I'm coming from a 97 daewoo matiz (3 cyl, maybe 80 hp??) but this car feels like a beast and handles very well. Anyways, ima just read through the FAQ's and learn what i can. The car has 93k kilometers so any suggestions on things I can look at for preventive maint is greatly appreciated. THanks for the welcome to the board.

Sorry to double post but I took a look at the 60k mile service and there's quite a few things to be done so I thought I'd do it little by little before the car hit 60k. I was wondering if usdm and jdm parts used in the type r are the same or different. Specifically the oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, distributor cap, and rotor. Also is there a place I could order all these parts online? It seems almost impossible to get my hand on this stuff in korea (unless they are non type r specific generic parts). Thanks in advance for all the help.
