8 inches is fine, just make sure the offset is ok. As for +25 ... I dunno. I think 35 might be more realistic for fitting properly.

Not to plug anything, but you should really buy my 16x8" wheels :D

But to get back to the topic, I could successfully run my 16x8 +38's with only minor amounts of fender rolling. An 8" wheel is not too wide if you run proper offset.

A +25 and you're going to be rubbing like crazy. I won't hesitate in saying that you're going to need to do some fender trimming.

I ran the 215/45/16 Azenis and they fit fine on an 8" rim.

Story of my life, lol.

But yeah, stay away from +25. If you value your fenders that offset will not work front or rear.

OK, well if your going to put on lets say a 215-45-16 tire on an 8" wide wheel, why not slap that same tire on a 7" wide wheel and save yourself ANY rubbing possibilities, and weight...

Because a 215/45/16 street tire on an 8" wheel responds waaaay better than it does on a 7" wheel.

This is very important in the SCCA street tire classes. Heck, the STS Civic guys run the 205/40/16 RT615 on a 7.5" wide wheel, and that's one skinny tire.

I've tested pretty much every combination of 15 and 16" tire, and the 215 size is very happy on an 8" wide wheel.

is it possible to say machine the wheels to a nicer +35 offset?

You'd probably have to machine the hub area out too and hope that all of this work doesn't compromise strength. 10-15mm is pretty significant I'd think, but I'm not an expert and I don't know what the wheel hub looks like.

And +35 would be on the remote edge of fitting without rubbing. Those few mm do make a difference.

just mount them and see how you like it.

you could even stretch a 205 on those 16's to get them to fit without rubbing hopefully.....

i like a nice low offset!
