NC. 1997 TYPE R FOR SALE #97

by Ronin
This is the one you have been looking for. One of the 1st 100 Type Rs brought to the USA. The car is #97 and it has been meticulously cared for. Always garaged, pampered and has no modifications. This beautiful collectors car has never raced or seen a track. It has been adult driven with no accidents and is in perfect running condition. The Type R has the dealer option AC. It has only 54k miles and gets 34 mpg on the highway. It still smells new, it will be hard to find one cleaner. Every bit of mechanical work has been recorded. Each gas fill up (how many miles, how much gas and MPG) has also been recorded since new.
$17,800 firm
I'll try to post pics tonight.

Sounds like a very nice car!!! Although, just because the number is 97 doesnt mean that it was one of the first 100 produced/brought over.

(Your 2nd and 3rd pics are the same. An engine bay and a couple interior pics may help you too.)
Thanks, I'll fix that.

Must talk self out of this... must not give in.
That's an awesome looking car. I'd have such a hard time getting that car and not driving it much. Clean title, clean car, original paint, all the maintenance records. That's exactly what I'd look for in a 97. I hope it goes to somebody who will really appreciate the car. The price is more than fair for this car. GL with the sale.

I really don't want to sell this car. I love it. I talked to the original owner (a guy in his 50s) the day after he bought it in 1997 and told him that if he ever wanted to sell it let me know. I chased him down in May of 2005 and he said that he was about to sell the Type R because he was buying one of the last E46 M3s. After he sold me the car he called me and he said he could not sleep for a week because of sellers remorse. This guy took such good care of the car he even waxed the inside of the wheels. Like I said before that he recorded every gas fill up and maintenance and I felt I should keep up the tradition so I have done the same. I am a huge 39-year-old Honda fan and collector. My first car was a 1985 CRX-Si that I still own. I just built my dream garage for my Hondas and ironically I have to sell the Type R to help pay for it.
Here is the vin#JH4DC2311VS00XXXX
I thought I would give more back round to the car and seller.
Edited to protect your caR, Bbasso

I'd sell the S2k before I sold the R.

x2 but you can probably and do drive it more than the ITR. I'd give up my S and get yours if I had another DD to drive and garage to store the ITR in, but I'd feel bad not driving the car. Part of me wants a damaged titled R so I can have one for a DD again and not have as much worry/heartache if something did happen.

I completely agree, but the S2000 is a company car that is leased (not my company). I have to sell the Type R because I have too many cars.
It's costing me an arm and a leg to keep all these cars insured and on the road.

I seriously wish I could give this R a home. I'd keep it just as clean and stock while putting on just a few k miles per year. It's eating my heart out

nope, i really cant see the wheels...
if your asking how did i know it was an 85 then it was because of the two tone black and lower grey...however you put on the 86-87 headlights, id put the 85 back on myself...

Bump. Thought I was getting rid of the S2000 so I would try to keep the Type R but the S2000 is staying so the Type R has got to go.
Thanks for all the emails from out west. The drive from NC would be a blast.
