I'm driving 4,000 kms from Edmonton. Should take me about 48 hours, non-stop driving time. So about 4 days, realistically. It's going to be an absolute blast! The road trip is half the fun! :D

I will try to coordinate a Canadian caravan for EXPO VII but I have to wait on SCCA dates before I commit.

I do believe that if you want EXPO...you need to go to VIR. In Canada, there is not enough interest to put together an event of this importance.

I will call a small meet in April at the track or later in the year at Calabogie...... but VIR is where you need to be in June , if you have a ITR.

Kansas City...the real "middle of the country".

Just did mapquest - I guess it's only ~17 hours

**jingle bells theme**>>
Oh what fun, it is to tow, in a big fat white gas hog! (1042 miles @ 11mpg = 94.5 gallons x2 (return trip) = 190 gallons >> 190 gallons @ ~$2.20/gal (regular gas) = $416 gas bill just to get there & back.)

If I just drove the kaa @ 28mpg it would only cost ~$200 (premium gas) + a chiropractic visit to fix a sore back

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to the fuel cost either.
It seems I'll be taking the diesel though, so it shouldn't be too bad. Well, not as bad as it would be if I took the gas truck.
I still need to get a better feel for diesel prices along my route, but it's going to cost me well over a grand to get there and back. This is my big vacation, so it's worth the bucks.

What kind of truck are you taking that guzzles that much gas? Must be a beast!

SCCA = Sports Car Club of America. It's the largest sanctioning body for 'solo' and 'club racing' in america. I'm recording 3 sessions from the SCCA Runoffs today on SpeedVision!

I'm licensed as a competitive club racer (door to door road racing on tracks like VIR and Heartland Park - where the Runoffs were held this year).

That's one nice vehicle! I gotta look into getting a fancy tow vehicle like that!
It's looking like I'll probably be bringing this creature. He's been getting just shy of 20 MPG, of course it'll be different when he's towing the car. Not such a bad deal considering it's a diesel.
Talk about a comfortable ride! Plus the cabin is the size of a small apartment so I can just sleep in him on the way down if I feel the urge.

He's not pretty, but he sure is useful to have around. He has a nice AliArc moose bumper on now, so he does look a bit different.

Rivieres du Loup to VIR can be done in 20 hours easy.....4 days? Only if you stop for beer in Montreal for 3 days.

Hmm ok I just saw after the quote of the KC map that you came in from SLC...that makes more sense.
