somebody send me GK's email so I can ask him to review the charges please! I saved the whole bunch of pm's in my profile and when I try to log on it says 'user banned for threads to moderator'.

I never threatened anyone, but the guy is acting like a douche and lacks debate skills.

short story:

i made a thread on EF > EG in the ef forum.

he locked it for NO reason.

i pm'd him for an explanation (very civil-like).

he replied that since it wasn't tech (which it DID have some tech in it) that was why.

i asked why not let me know so i could change it a bit or whatever to bring it into compliance. instead he says quit beating a dead horse and cites that it MUST be tech or it isn't allowed.

i look in 30 seconds and find a SHITLOAD of non-tech threads in there, and show him.

he refuses to see the facts and says that's that and says quit beating a dead horse, 'end of discussion' blah blah blah

so i say, way to go in exercising moderating skills. :thumbdown:

he then bans me.

NO THREATS. obviously abuse of power and lack of debate skills on his part.

keep in mind that i've been on h-t since before the split with h-a.net and before the board crashes and loss of all posts on two occasions. :/

Thats true with alot of mods over there, especially if your not a regular in that forum... Kinda how we are in the ITR forum. Sounds like that mod is an extra special douche..

I'm not sure why you thought it was a good idea to argue with him. Arguing with somebody on Honda-Tech is always, always, always going to cause a rucktion.

I'm not going to make it worse by unilaterally unbanning you, but I will talk to him about who you are and what your past is. He probably just had no idea who you were.

Never, never argue with officials, not at the track, and certainly not at Honda-Tech.

It's never going to solve anything.

NOTE: The ITR Forum is unique in the latitude it affords posters. Most of the other marque forums are tech-only forums, and they have special rules that make everything else actionable.

Hey BlackR dont worry about H-T it's lame. I find itrca to be a much better forum. People are nice here. I got bannd from H-T also you will be glad your not a part of that family after a while. No disrespect to H-T as i know most user's on this site are also user's on H-T. Truth be told H-T mod's can learn a thing or two from itrca mod's Just my .02

I had a similar occurance arise about a year ago. I started a thread in the "normal" Integra forum asking about a certain front lip for my gf's 4 door teggy. I posted links to other past threads I had read but either the pics were red x's or there wasn't enough info in the thread. I stated that I was "visiting" from the ITR forum as well. Within 1 minute my thread was deleted and a mod PM'd me saying that I should "take this shit to the A&C forum"

. I basically let it go without a response and never went back.

Seriously, GK what could possibly be the sense in banning me because of pm's non public? Especially when I asked for cause and there was none?

At this point, that individual has basically acted like a child - which seriously makes me rethink any desire to be a part of that 'scene.'

The mods imho should represent the board and its' principles. And if people of that ilk are now running the asylum, then perhaps it's better that my time there is done.

I know a lot of people in the itr forum, and don't venture much elsewhere except maybe for rr/ax and allmotor... maybe a dabble or two in tech or gdd. The point is that I've made my home h-t for YEARS, and contributed many fine posts and threads imho.

To be judged by a power tripping kid who can't even conduct himself in a debate - and banned unreasonably is just fucking stupid.

To wit, I have gone over all of the rules I could find on h-t and found none that I've violated. Where is the requirement for TECH? That seems to be the thing that he's hiding behind. However the double standard escapes those who are cool to VAPIE.....

Further, have you ever known me to be anything but level headed? Heck, I really didn't even flame the kid. *shrug*

If it's that much trouble, then don't don't worry about it. I'll find a good home here where I should've been in the first place (since it is itr specific). It sucks to devote so much time and energy (and threads) and lose it because of a childish mod.

I opened up the PM file, and IMHO you did go overboard. You frustrated him by continuing to argue instead of shutting up or just asking me what was going on.

I am confused by the time stamps. It seems to me that some of your IM conversation with him took place after you talked to me and after I had edited and moved your thread.

I agree 100%. The atmosphere in the several marque forums is not the same. You can do things in ITR Forum that would get you banned in EG Forum, and I do not think that it is fair.

There is no leadership there that can get it all in line right now. The owner has hinted that he wants a major overhaul, but because of the time constraints placed on him by the ventures that bring in the most money, he cannot ever seem to get around to finishing it and implementing it.

We also have waaaay too many moderators who don't do very much anymore...but if you hint that it's time to get more moderators or replace moderators, it's like you've brought the roof down on your own head.

I think that your own problem with Vap is going to get solved. He is not an unreasonable person and I think that he will understand that you just kind of lost your head for a little while.

There are also some useful threads to which we can point as testimony that you are a generally well versed and helpful person to have around.

I am sorry you had this problem...but please remember for the future that it's a mistake to argue with officials. They are also human beings who can lose their tempers, and you cannot expect every official to know who you are and how useful you are. It's a big place.
