Hey Iam new to the board and I just recently bought a 2000 civic Si with a 2000 ITR motor in it.I currently have an act clutch/flywheel,Mugen header, fake J's intake,AEM pulleys my car made 188whp and 135TQ this is with an open header.I got a hookup with skunk2 so I can get cams, cam gears, springs and retainers for an extremely low price. Now I am thinking about buying stage2 or stage 3 but what Iam concerned with about the stage 3 is if I will have enough compression or will they just be a waste.

Go with stage 2, even that might require too high a compression for you...

All motor at that low of a WHP level you might have hurt yourself a bit on a open downpipe do to lack of back pressure. Bigger isnt always better all motor brother

stage 3's are a waste, stage 2's are perfect I was told. I'm running CTR cams in my GSR head, they work pretty good. Stage 2's are just at the line. before your car becomes a pre race only car.

do the stage 2's require upgraded valve springs/retainers?

I have the Stage 2's now with SuperTech valves and Valvesprings along with new OEM retainers.

I'm having an issue and I'm going to be changing cams to the Skunk2 Pro 1's. Pretty close IMO with the exception of the ramp technology.
