New Autocross Setup.. Need advice.

I am selling my Gram Light 57 Pro's for a set of daily driver wheels + a set of wheels to autocross on.
I am not too concerned about the DD wheels at the moment but I have some questions regarding the autocross setup if you guys could give me some advice.
I've got six (6) 245/40-17 Hoosier A3S05 that I picked up in new condition for $200 for all 6. Do you guys think that this will fit on a 7.5" wide wheel?
The guy I got them from is certain that they will but what you guys think.
These are the wheels I am looking at.

They are a 4X100 setup I know but 17X7.5". Do you think that I would benefit a +35 offset rather than the +45 or will it make a difference? My car is pretty low but I planned on raising it a bit before events if I can stuff these tires.
Thanks for the help in advance.

As for the tires fitting the rims, check the spec and see what are the min-max rim width. Tirerack.com has that.
But honestly I don't know if you can stuff that tire under w/o problems.

The tire will fit the wheel, but I have no idea if the combo will fit under the car. Depending on your susp setup and how high you are, I'm willing to bet you'll rub.

Cool deal.
With raising the car up before events, do you think I can get away with little to no rubbing?
I was hoping with the +35 offset it would push it out a bit.
Thanks for the quick reply's guys.

well you can only go so far before you rub on the fender. How still is your susp.?

By still you mean stiff?
I have Tein SS on it and its on 14 front and 10 rear. Pretty stiff and setup decent.
Right now with the 17's that are on it, I can fit almost 2 fingers in between the tires and fenderwell. Plus my fenderwells are rolled.

oops, yes I meant stiff.
That might be stiff enough. Really the only way to know for sure is to try it. At that price I'd say it'd be worth it to try and if it won't work you can always get different tires

Im hoping that it will be.
Our solo events around here are generally held on very smooth surfaces and I havent ever had a rubbing problem with the gram lights being dumped before i raised it a tad.
Thanks for the help guys. Just trying to get somewhat competitive in Sports Modified..

On that note, it seems like you might be compromising your settings up.

I am hoping not though.
Wouldnt me much since it seems like I have a good amount of clearance already.

constantly raising and lowering your car also throws your alignment out of whack. Even if it is minimal

Point Taken!
Well, lets hope that I can stuff the tires then. If not, its going up for good and getting re-aligned.
