Hi members, I just got my turbo install, and should I get it tune right away or should I run it for about 200-300miles then get it tune?
thanks

if u built the motor, put a street tune on it while you break the motor...if it's just a bolt on kit the motor does not need breaking in and should be treated right away

That depends on what else you have done to it.
What kind of engine management, exhaust, intake / intercooler....

List what you have.

Then I say that is good

I just had mine tuned and it only made 205whp@8psi Revhard Kit Stage II. Bone stock motor, 2.5" downpipe to catback exhaust. Is this good or bad guys?

On what kind of dyno? If that is on a dynojet then I think those numbers are low. If that is on a Mustang or a DynoDynamics dyno, then that sounds pretty good.

Hondata has got to be the easiest / tuner friendly software I have ever used or seen, so there should not be any exuces there. Send me a copy of the file (.skl) to: kgs_itr@sbcglobal.net and I will take a look at it.

It's Mustang Dyno, Is there any more tweaking on the calibrations I should be looking at? my knock sensor is disabled, 11.8 A/F ratio and on the VTEC is at 10.? A/F ratio.

I think you got ripped off MAJORLY. I say that with confidence too.

I opened up the base map that came with Hondata called B18c5 Revhard Turbo. I compared all the maps and options in the files. I noticed just a couple differences in one of the maps, but then realized that it was not tuned. Now I was not there, but I can almost guarantee you that he did not TUNE your car on a dyno. And as for the exucse about power / knock sensor... I wouldnt use the Honda knock sensor anyway, I have heard too many things about how it is too sensitive / always retarding timing.

Here are the only differences between the base map supplied by Hondata and the file that you sent me:

(1) The secondary tables option has been unchecked on both the low and high fuel map.

(2) The injector size was changed under the fuel trim tab to account for your 550cc injectors

(3) Your ELD is disabled.... (what ecu are you using?)

Ok, and finally.... At only 8 psi, I think your motor is too rich if the air to fuel ratios you told me are true.

Here is what my air - fuels look like at 7.5 psi and no intercooler on a JRSC:

In my opinion, those are perfect. Keep in mind that this is 188 hp on a DynoDynamics which converts to about 220 hp on a dynojet. And, I still had the stock exhaust manifold, cat, and exhaust. That is just something to think about. If I were you, I would go have a word with the tuner and demand A LOT of that cash back.

ELD is electronic load detector.
It is built into the underhood fuse / relay box by the battery. I don't know why he disabled it. You can enable it, upload the changes and see if u get a CEL. Should not cause u any problems one way or another.

By having the secondary tables unchecked, the map is slightly different in just a couple spots. I don't really know which option to recommend because it is evident to me that the motor should be retuned anyway. I would probably reload the Hondata file and use that until you get retuned.

Here's my Dyno as you can see the solid blue line is AFR, the graph indicates it's around 12.0:1 @ 2200RPM, 10.4:1 @ 3400RPM, 11.8:1 @ 5200RPM, and gets richer at 5300RPM with 10.? AFR. Is anybody in this forum has basemap of Hondata on 8psi of boost that I compare?
