For Sale: 2000 FBP ITR #1455 Southeastern Massachusetts

I am listing for sale my 2000 Acura ITR. The car is located in southeastern MA, and is Flamenco Black Pearl. Number 00-1455.

*Second owner. My friend bought it new at Acura of Boston in July 2000. It was the last new black one left in New England at the time.

*Low mileage. I bought it from him in 2004 with 21,600 mi. It now has a little over 37,000. (Approx. 5300 miles a year)

*Stored winters in my Dad's garage. Prior owner had a winter car, as do I.

*Clear title. No salvage, never stolen or wrecked. One minor accident in July 2004. A truck bumped me in the back corner. His insurance paid to replace the slightly cracked left rear tail lamp lens and repaint the little rub on the bumper cover. Never raced, beaten on, or taken to the track. No squeaks or rattles, nothing is broken and everything works.

*Pretty much ALL STOCK. The only "mods" are the AEM cold air intake with K&N filter which prior owner installed, as well as clear front marker/turn signal lenses. I kept both because I like them. Original parts on hand if you want to change it back. Car also has a Momo shift knob, tinted windows, Razo pedals, and alarm system. No engine, suspension, or exhaust alterations.

*Newer tires. Dunlop Direzza summer tires P205/50/15 V speed rated, around 2000 miles on them.

*Mobil 1 synthetic every 3000 miles since new. Genuine Acura oil filters only.

* YES...I even have the original window sticker!

This is a well-cared for, clean, unabused, very low-mileage vehicle which still gets lots of compliments whenever I take it out. I would like to see it go to a good home. I am not interested in trades. I already have a '96 GS-R, a Volvo XC-70, a motorcycle and a work-provided car (State Police unmarked cruiser).

There's a lot of junk out there in the papers and on Ebay. This is a nice one. I don't think the car is platinum plated, but please don't contact me with ridiculous low-ball offers, as I am not desperate to unload it. It's just time to move on and let someone else enjoy it.

$18,000 or best reasonable offer.

If interested, please e-mail me: CWL2373@aol.com

Please click on the photos of my car:

And where were you about 2 months ago? Sweet car, but which do you like better, the unmarked cop car or this?

I work homicide, so I don't get anything high performance. My unmarked cruiser is a 2005 Taurus, so it's no contest. Now only if I could get the state to put blue lights and a radio in the Type R....hmmmm.

Do you have the floor mats and the truck mat for it?

Also, just out of curiosity, how come you're selling the R and not the GSR?

I have the Type-R floor mats in storage. I have been using gray GSR mats in it since I got it to keep the original mats nice. I don't know what you mean by "truck mat." Do you mean trunk mat? There was no trunk mat that came with these cars. It has the standard carpeting that covers the trunk area and secures with velcro. There is no mat that came factory that goes on top of that trunk carpet, if that's what you meant. I took photos without the floor mats to show what good shape the carpet is in underneath.

I am selling this one and not the GSR because it's worth way more money and I am planning on buying a new house sometime this year. The GSR is not half the car the R is, but it's still a fun car to drive and it came down to deciding whether I should sell a car I could maybe get $4000 for versus selling the one I could probably get in the high teens for. Just an economics decision. Othewise, I'd prefer to keep it.

FYI: I do have several people interested at this point who seem serious. The high offer at this time is $18,000.

I believe the trunk mat he was referring to is the optional ITR trunk mat like the one found HERE.

I've never seen one of those before. Some kind of optional mat available from the dealer?

At any rate...it didn't come stock with the car and I don't have it. Nor have I ever seen anyone with it. Sure does look nice, though!

It was a factory option, like the fog lights, body kit, etc. Not too many have them, but I just wanted to check.

still available?

In my personal opinion 18,000 is a STEAL for this car! I would have asked 23,000 as a starting price.

low miles- never modded- never beaten= top dollar.

good luck on the sale, but I doubt you need luck at that price.

Thanks for the last post, BBasso, I appreciate the comment. I started by listing the car here this summer, hoping that maybe an ITRCA member might pick it up, but several interested parties had to "sell theirs first" or bought one elsewhere because they thought mine was already sold and it didn't work out. I listed the car on Autotrader.com a couple weeks ago and have had a steady stream of phone calls and e-mails about it. I should be closing a deal on the car for $17,500 (my listed price on Autotrader) within the next 10 days or so with a buyer from MD. I will post here once the sale is finalized to take it off the market, or to put it back out there in case it falls through. Thanks to all who expressed interest in my car, and maybe sometime in the future if I pick up another Type R I will see you at an ITR Expo on the track. It's been fun owning such a great and rare sports car. Best regards to all! ~Chad
