Stock or performance brake pads for a track day?

I have a bone stock ITR that I'm taking to an upcoming track day and was wondering if anyone could offer some suggestions as to whether to go with stock pads or a performance set?
Are there any compromise-type "crossover" pads out there, i.e., street use AND track use, that will give me a worthwhile improvement over stock? If not, any recommendations on a performance or race set that won't seriously chew up my stock rotors after a day at the track?
