OK; it's been quite some time since I've been on this site to any degree. I still recognize some of the names; don't recognize others.
Maybe you can help.
I am the original owner of a unmodified '98 ITR; great condition, 120K miles; my beloved fun daily driver. Had a real bad accident a few days ago; writing this from bed now. Car was totalled and the ins co. only wants to give me $8400 for it.
This is like insult to injury. I'm sure this figure is based on other integra models and the huge # of non-Type R's out there.
What I'd like to do, without too much energy expended (since this really is the least of my problems right now), is present to the ins co. some data on the real value of these cars, likely from sales history and input from experts like you owners. I just figure I could have sold this car for a lot more $ than what they want to give me.
Of course, if that's the way it is, then that's the way it is. Just wanted your input.

I"m going to miss corresponding with you all about our cars.

Joe

sorry for your lost and hope your okay..

but remember you don't have to the first offer.. just check trader and local classifieds such as craigslist and kijiji those are free selling places that people can post ad up there, gather your information and present the ins co. with your findings and let them re-evaluate whats it worth. hope that helps.

Oh well. Was hoping for more response.
Got the insurance co. to up the payout by $5K, so remember it's worth going after them when you don't agree with a payout price.
