just...so....itchy at the moment....
Well, as much crap as i've been having with my ITR. i still love it. Whoever owned it before i did...simply...needs shot in the face at point blank range for NOT knowing how to properly take care of a car. And i hope one day they lose their legs and are never able to drive another vehicle EVER again. It's sad how some people neglect their car. Pitiful actually. But enough about that....I'm planning on purchasing another ITR (or two) here sometime within the next couple of years. Yeah definitely gonna do that..................i'm jsut bored at the moment......

Sorry but because of your comment, I have to ask...
What did the previous owner do (or not do) that you're upset about?
Just wondering since you went to the trouble of the post but didn't give us any hint as to what they did...

Re: just...so....itchy at the moment....
oh...well....basically whoever it was, was A COMPLETE TOOLBAG! Did NOT know how to take care of a car PROPERLY. Apparently did NOT know how to wax....OR WASH a car. Did NOT know the meaning of SCHEDULED maintainance. When i took the car in to have the tranny looked at about the 3rd gear synchro....the guy at the shop told me that it looked like the tranny had never been serviced. One of the gears was missing *2* teeth. the 3rd gear synchro was SHOT, and another was just about as bad. There's big stains around the drivers footwell, the OEM horn does not work...and apparently didn't work for a LONG time because when i took it in to get inspected they discovered 2 airhorns mounted directly behind the front bumper. (there's a void directly behind the Acura badge on the front bumper...that's where the airhorns are mounted) And that required the removal of the front bumper. The car was bumped in the rear and the bumper was never repainted. the engine compartment and underside of the hood are COVERED in dirt and grease. the headliner has dirt marks all over it. And i don't know what they were thinking putting on the after market parts they put on. About the ONLY thing that they put on that was probably worth ANY good was the DC Sport header. All the other parts don't have a either don't have a name or no one on the planet has ever heard of them. The 17" Motegi's weigh A TON even WITHOUT tires. I'm surprised they didn't take off the rear spoiler and add a freakin park bench whale tail on it. I'm even MORE shocked that it had the stock taillights and headlights. I changed the oil the rest day i had the car...the oil filter was just a plain black oil filter. No name, no serial/part number, no nothing but a random dent in it. Spark plugs were as black as the car was. OH!!!! Here's a kicker for ya! i went to change the air filter a week or so after i got the car. I removed the filter that was on there and on the inside of the intake pipe, right around the end i see burrs. IT WAS A !^%&%!$! PIECE OF ALUMINUM PIPE THAT WAS SPRAY PAINTED BLACK AND HAD A MUGEN STICKER OF THE BOTTOM SIDE OF IT!!!! WTF.WTF.WTF!!! (i'll post a pic of it later. i'm not kidding. I simply couldn't believe it. Now, i'm just calling it as a see it. 'shootin for the hip' if you will. When i came across the car....it's the type of situation you'd be in if you took your girl to the local animal shelter or pet store. You know how it goes...you swear up and down you're just there to look...you see something....and a few days later you go home with it...yeah...kinda like that. I just HAD to rescue this car from an early death. What i'm so wired about is how ANYone would neglect a car (much less a TYPE-freakin'-R!) in such a way....I mean, it doesn't even have an ITR tranny. I've waxed the car a few dozen times since i first bought it and have determined that it will need to be recleared in the end. It just needs a lot of TLC...and the more i give it the more FUBAR'd shat i keep...discovering...which, in turn, makes me want to find the previous owner and cut his legs off.......for instance the back seat. The top center section of the rear seats (by the rear deck tray thingy) is faded ro almost a red-ish pink color from sitting in the sun too much. Now i may just be splitting hairs, but oh well. All in all, i'm just frustrated about how much of a neglectful toolbag the previous owner was....

It sounds more like the previous owner beat the crap out of the car, not just neglected the maintenance. I'm more surprised though that you're complaining about all these issues, even though they should have all been obvious when you bought it. Did you even look at the car before you bought it? If all this stuff bothers you so much, I don't get why you bought it in the first place.

^well i guess the easiest analogy i can come up with is this: Any of you guys have a girlfriend or wife that LOVES animals? It's the classic tale of going to the local animal shelter or pet store. You know you're going but you swear on your life...your firstborn...that you're only there to LOOK. Anyone see where this is going.....
pet store/animal shelter = car lot
helpless kitten/puppy = ITR
...you get it home, take are of it, feed it, water it, bathe it....but the mo-fo still shats all over the carpet, chews on any and everything it can fit in its mouth, pee's on the laundry, barks all hours of the nights, and wakes you up at random hours of the night, and is basically a PITA....but in the end, you can't help but feel happy for getting it. Well, it's kinda like that.

Man that's way worse than mine when I got it...I had to replace my stock motor mounts and get a new itr transmission casing (the original was cracked) because my motor moved like 5 inches when I pulled on it. My previous owner also did'nt maintain the car. Hopefully someone(or you) can rejuvenate her. GL on finding new ones!

^what annoys me the most is the fact that someone would actually treat a car like that...to me, that's right on par with physically abusing a mentally handicapped child.phoenixR34 wrote:It sounds more like the previous owner beat the crap out of the car, not just neglected the maintenance. ^well, believe it or not, some people actually enjoy taking care of their cars. On the other hand, there's no need to wash a 'sunday driver' ever other day of the week now is there? Get my point?.....probably not......oh well
