Hi i have a 2000 type r with i/h/e skunk 2 cam gears, honda date intake mf, stock ecu, aem fuel rail, aem fuel pr, crower ratiners, irdium ix plugs. When the car hits vtec at 5800 rpms the car bogs and then hits vtec hard around 6900 rpms all the way to redline what could cause this to happen i all ready checked the fuel psi i changed ti to 49 psi when stock called for 38-46 psi and that did not change anything should i go more? what should i set my fuel psi at with all these mods on the car? i checked the timeing as well i put it at the 18 mark thanks for ahead for any help.

Stock ECU or chipped? I know you said stock in your description, just want to make sure.
If stock, sounds like the car needs to be tuned.

THE ECU I AM USING RIGHT NOW IS A STOCK P73 ONE MORE QUESTION SHOULD I USE A P28 WITH TYPE R MAPPING? AND I CAN ORDER A CHIP WHAT SHOULD I HAVE DONE TO IT ON THE MAPPING ON IT IE MORE FUEL, HIGHER REDLINE, ECT OR SHOULD I JUST STICK WITH THE P73 THANKS JEFF

would be the same... both ITR.
I'd put the fuel psi back to stock, sounds like you might be flooding it. The stock R runs rich from the factory... Does it have a strong gas smell ? How do the plugs look? When I had my caR on the dyno, timing 16-18 did not make a difference on 93 octane, So we left it at 17.
Be more specific on what I/H/E you have, some of the ones out there just suck.
My car has the basic I/H/E, cam gears (both at 0) and stock ECU and runs great! I can even get 37mpg.
PS, DON"T TYPE IN ALL CAPS, it's like yelling on the www.
thanks.

Again, you need to get your car on a Dyno, hook up a wide band, and have the car tuned.

Here goes i have a aem cai, jvt 4-1 headers, skunk2 w catback mega power 2.5 inch ext aem fuel rail with fuel regulator, hondata intake mf gasket and ngk iriduim ix plugs . I put the fuel back to stock and the car bogs down even sooner around 5k and feels like it just studders and runs like shit when you hit the gas. The car dose have a gas smell to it and the plugs look normal and i might if lucky get 20mpg right now. The car when i bought it had a p28 ecu chipped but i was running way to rich and vtec felt like it did not hit at all so when i put the p73 ecu the vtec hits hard but i have this problem now. And the car feels like it can run way past the 8500 rpm and feels stronger running higher in the rpms on the p73. My p28 chipped goes to 10000 rpm and when i had it running in the car and felt like it would do it with no problems so i dont know if this car has cams or some internal work done to it but it dose look like i might have had nos at one time because the tps has been tapped in to. let me know what else i should have checked i cant put it on a dyno yet because i dont have time to drive to las vegas it is two hours away.

Plugs look normal? Yet you smell gas and are getting 20 MPG... My guess, is your running rich as hell. Read my post above... you need to get the car TUNED. ECU and either chip or standalone.
FWIW, on a properly tuned car, you shouldn't feel the vtec engagement... AT ALL!!! So it "hitting hard" doesn't mean a t hing.
I would NOT run the car higher than stock RPM's... while it may "feel" like it will make more power... you don't have the cams to support/justify going that high.
I would contact the previous owner(s) to find out exactly what's in the car. Sounds to "mysterious" to me. As for drving 2 hours to get it tuned, it's well WELL worth it. MPG will go back up, car will run better, you won't foul out plugs and everything will work properly with one another.

YES!!! Have the car properly tuned ON A DYNO!
Think of it like this... You talk to your Dr. about having a cold... he gives you something for the sneezing, but nothing for the cough.
It's a guessing game when putting or having chips burned for the car. Without actually getting the car on the dyno and seeing what's going on, you'll never know.
That, and you run the risk of leaning out the car, which in turn can lead to catostrophic failure.
