Anyone try Throttle body Coolant by-pass mod????.....
i did this a couple years back on my prelude, and i definetely felt a little worth-while difference, and it's free. just wondering if anyone tried it on the R. (is it even possible?) (the only draw-back is that you had to re-connect the coolant line once the ambient temps began to drop below 65 F. i...

Re: I THINK I figured out why my car is slow........
yah, he only beats me in vtec. we tested a variety of siutations, and basically if we're both in vtec in any gear (ie second), and hold it and then take off and the same time.....he consistently pulls away. so, how do i check if it's getting enough fuel in vtec??? could it be getting too much fuel??...

ACT clutch, HD with SS any good??....
seems to be on the expensive side, especially compared to Exedy for example. i don't race the car, just have fun to and fro work, etc. also planning on flywheel. need a set-up that's not too too pricey, but will also provide top quality and last long. keeping the car forever basically :). won't be o...

ACT Prolite (8.8 lb) Chromoly Flywheel any good?? Or garbage??
I've realized it's much cheaper than many of the other manufacturers??? but is there a reason for that?
will it warp early?
the dealer told me it won't warp as easily as the aluminum flywheels, like the fidanza.

Re: I THINK I figured out why my car is slow........
yah, he did a compression test and did something to check the valves too. he said it was running as good as new. so, do you think the clutch could be slipping up high in the rpms, therefore, slowing me down????....like the tech explained?? the good thing about this whole thing is that, i'll have him...

I THINK I figured out why my car is slow........
as some of you may have seen my post from a week or so ago regarding how my brother's stock Prelude was faster than my R, and how I generally felt like the car lacked power..... anyways, i took it into the dealership, and a tech which is BIG into import perfomance test drive her and gave me his opin...

Re: You think your R is slow Typeruz?
that's cool man, no beef here. in regards to the valves not being adjusted....how would the car act if the valves weren't adjusted??? wondering b/c i have been getting a weird "chat-chat-chat-chat" sound from my engine for the past few months. it's most easily heard in second gear, and is ...

Re: You think your R is slow Typeruz?
hmmmmm, thanks for the input. actually, i changed the fuel filter recently, along with the spark plugs. i still have some time on the warranty and need to finally take it into the stealership. unfortunately, mine sucks, so i have to find another one in the area. could it be the cat? if so, what othe...

Re: You think your R is slow Typeruz?
well, the car's stock for the most part. it does have an AEM fuel rail from the previous owner, but that's it. as for the power, it accelerates rather smoothly, and goes into vtec smoothly. it just doesn't feel all that strong.

Re: You think your R is slow Typeruz?
ummmmmmm, thanks for that last post. for your info, i can drive. and i do know how to "value" my R. when comparing against the prelude (my brothers car), we tested all senarios....rolling start, secong gear pull, from vtec, from below vtec, switching drivers, etc, etc, etc, etc.....and the...

How much mileage do you get BEFORE the gas light comes on????
i get about 220 miles before it clicks on...with mixed street and highway, lot of revving/some vtecing. stock engine. that works out to about 21 miles per gallon. i'm thinking this is too low. could something be wrong??? i'll be replacing the PCV valve next week to rule that out. also, the previous ...

I think my Type R is slow.......
should a 2001 prelude and 96 328i beat me???? i'm completely stock, them too. i know they have more torque, but i thought i should beat em. equal driver skills in all cars, and we took off from 25 mph to 80 mph. however, after 60 mph i started catching up again. i know if it was to 100mph i'd be up ...

Where is the PCV valve???? Anyone, please....
When I went to the dealer to buy it, he said it would be on the valve cover. But there is nothing on the valve cover that remotely looks like the part I bought. Also, he couldn't find the part number for the Type R PCV, but he sold me the LS Integra's PCV valve claiming its the same part.....it's a ...
