Technology Thread
Re: Technology Thread
This is question for Erik mainly, but I'd appreciate all the input I can get.
Took our new Canon HF M31 to the Bahamas last week, most videos clips are exactly what I wanted, very crisp and true color video with good 5.1 sound. Today, I drove the aR to work and threw the Canon on the camera mount and drove to work. Needless to say since it was fairly dark out and the AF was on, the video was terrible. I recorded the trip home, MF on, IS still on and for giggles I used the camera mount strap that I rarely used. Video is still horrible. After doing some reading, CMOS based lense sensors are notorious for doing this, but some have success using cameras with CMOS sensors.
Erik, I beleive your Samsung is CMOS based as well? I am using a different mount than Erik, I have the I/O Port mount. SO MAYBE..., I need to look into the rollbar itself? When I installed it, I did not torque the brackets to the point that the floorpan of the car flattened. I would not think that would be best, but other Autopower owners can chime in with their thoughts??

Re: Technology Thread
OK..The past couple weeks my newish laptop has been doing just fine playing starcraft 2. All of a sudden over the weekend it would just go black after playing for 40-60 minutes. I assume this is due to the laptop getting hot. For the past couple weeks there have been times where I would play for 3 hours straight with not one hiccup. Maybe something got worn out or something now allowing the processor to get hotter, quicker?
Before you say it, yes, I know laptops are not the best solution for gaming due to their typically inadequate cooling abilities. However, I'm looking at spending $20-25 on a "laptop cooler." I'm not sure if it will keep it cool enough to allow me to continue playing or not. Thoughts?

Re: Technology Thread
Should take you to a youtube video on how to turn your Hero in a macro camera using a laser lens from a DVD-ROM. Work firewall might be blocking.
Re: Technology Thread
Ah, that's why... youtube blocked on this PC.

That looks much like a datacenter that we are doing some large storage installations on. This one is the second largest super-computer setup in the US with 60,000 sq ft of raised server room floor. I just can't get a camera in to there.

So what's new with it again, besides Flash 10.1?

Next Generation of Apple TV's only $99. Definitely a cool unit if you're already apple'd out, at bare minimum it has the raddest interface to sit there and watch youtube on your TV for hours.

Re: Technology Thread
Works perfect! What phone do you have? I'm on a Droid X.
This is a perfect example of why Apple apps are better though. They need to design them to work on ONE piece of hardware. Windows and Android are similar in the regard that it needs to work on all different hardware platforms.

I'm running it myself. It's beta, so there will be bugs across the platforms.

Re: Technology Thread
I've read comments about it not working right on the Incredible.
I too am having some sort of issue with it. The "earthen" part of the "castle" is only showing white. Weird, I'll take a screen shot.
