Brad, any reason for using the Intel cpu?? I am quite happy with the AMD 4 core x 3.1ghz. If I needed I could go 6 cores but nothing I have done with this computer tells me I need 2 extra cores or to over clock the cpu.

Because it's a mac, you have no other option.

Normally the ISP handles a large portion of that transition
Yes, AT&T installed the T1 circuit to upgrade from the current DSL on site. Our provisioner for the circuit supplied/configured a managed router for the Ethernet hand-off on site. So our HSIA MGMT company visits property, apparently has to reconfigure this Cisco router (takes only 1 hour according to them), do who knows what for the other 7 hours on site, and are asking for a PO for $4k. They made two prior trips to property that were basically a waste.

This is what occurred (summary of what I sent for escalation):

9/22 - Showed up on site, noticed two locations needed to be connected, walked away. EST 1 hour
10/7 - Made (2) CAT6 terminations on cable we ran for them. Noticed that Nitel didn't install a managed router for property (Should've noticed this on prior trip) and walked away. EST 1 Hour
10/18 - 8 Hours on site apparently - 1 hour programming router.

You'll notice that I had to have one of my contractors run the Cat6 cable for them to connect the Dmarc to the location of the server. Rant warning: Blows my mind an "IT company" basically refused doing it.

So, understanding the above, for just labor 3 trips to property, 1 of which shouldn't have been necessary, I'd expect to pay maybe around a 1-1.5k. However in addition to all this the MGMT company is trying to charge me for "13 hours of their time in the office. 9.5 hours of travel time for tech. etc"

Ludicrous. Sorry for the long winded post but it's for this reason that I'll be looking into starting my own HSIA Mgmt company, branching off of my current company. I'm so sick of the bullshit from these companies that have no clue what a partnership is supposed to mean. We've been through just about every major HSIA mgmt company that all have tried to stick it to us at every opportunity given.

I know there are different RJ45 connectors some suited better for cat5,5e,6. However, has it been any of your guys experience as to having continuity issues with "Cat5 connectors" on Cat6 cable??? Any validity to that?

There are no differences in the connectors, the only difference has to do with the actual twisting of the wires within the shielded wire.

We use Cat6, Cat5e, etc. in place of a long-run HDMI for various projector setups all the time...use a digital balun and such. I don't know if that's elite though :P

That's actually what i'm doing in this scenario. I used Gefen devices and atlona. Highly dislike Atlona btw. Cat6 to HDMI converters.

I did not go for the 17", I got the 15" with an i7, 8gb RAM, 128gb SSD, and higher res display. I will be removing the optical drive and putting in the largest 9mm height drive I can find. I think that will be a 640gb drive.

Seriously? Is it stable at even 2 Ghz?

I'm stock at 512, and when I try to go about 786 it starts freaking out.
