Need ABS front & rear units for 97R

Post by itr97-356 »

Hi all,
I am getting errors #s that tell me to replace both
front ABS pump/Valve unit and the ABS brain located in rear passenger wall.
Can anyone out there help?

After a computer scan we got the following error codes:-
1 - 5.1 = Faulty ABS Accumulator and motor
2 - 5.3 & 8.1 = Faulty ABS Controller

We checked the ABS motor with a hot wire and it does not run.

I haven't seen any threads on faulty ABS either.
It's a drag that I seem to be the odd one out :(

ABS modulator 57110-s30-003

Interchanges with all 98+ integra, and 97+ prelude (EPC says except for 98, which i don't believe). Readily available used pretty much anywhere, ebay, car-part.com, etc...

I may have a 97R ABS ECU, i can't remember what i did with it. But it does not interchange with 98+ ITR.... been there, done that.

Thanks for the input D.

I've been looking on carparts.com and there seem to be quite a few used modulator assemblies.
What the difference is between the $150 ones and the $350 guys I don't know.

If you can find your 97 ABS ECU I'd be really grateful.
They want $865 for a new one. I just rebuilt my engine with .25 oversize,
new head and much more so a used deal would be much appreciated right now.

Is the Modulator part # 57110-s30-003 ?
If so I'd be interested in that.

I am trying to find an original 97 ECU though.
thx

Hi D and 98allmotor,
Just got back from a trip.

It seems that the Type R has a different ABS Modulator Valve to the GSR.

http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/ ... atalogid=0

However the motor is the same. So still looking for the Modulator I'm afraid :(

I hope you find the ECU D :)

thx for your attention guys

That link shows a modulator for a 97 GSR which is a different part number then the 98 GSR..the 98 GSR modulator is the same part number as the 97 ITR

Not really, true for 1997... ITR gets the new style smaller ABS modulator, GSR/LS retain the OBD1 style large piece of crap.

All 98+ integra share the same ABS modulator, the ECU's are different between ITR and the rest however. I can pull all the part numbers if you wish, or seach all my old posts on ht, HTk or here, can't remember where it was.

Hang tight, found some stuff in the garage.

I know the ecu are different for the years but I'm pretty sure the 98 modulator is the same because they are exact same part numbers

97 ITR modulator = all 98+ Integra Modulator.

97 and earlier anything but type r = ghetto large modulator.

I'm not sure if we're saying the same thing or not, i've pulled all the part number many a times.

2 normal integra, 1 98ITR, 1 97ITR ecu.

I just spoke to an Acura dealer and they confirm D's info.

The 97 R got the new modulator a year earlier than the other models, yeah.

So if D can find the ECU it seems like you guys have got me covered :)
