hey, I just picked up the new modified mag(one of the only ones I would trust) and I guess with the way we set up our fuel system by limiting map voltage it automaticly bumps timing 10 degrees when you injectors are trimmed 40%. just be careful and listen very carefully for knock

Thanks, I already know that you get full advance on boost with the VAFC,
I hate that, but without being able to control timing independently there's not much we can do about it, Hondata here we come!

yup I am already puttin hondata in my budget. the only good thing for me is my buddy has the tuning software for the hondata and a wideband O2. I am just goin to dial my timing at the distributer all the way back till winter when I buy hondata

Erik, Do you mean that Hondata is OBD1? Sorry, still new to the ITR game, coming from a DSM background.....OBD1 Ownz jOO....
Has anyone tried using the Apex'I ITC in conjunction with the VAFC?
Thanks, Matt

Naw man OBD1 is the ECU that comes outta the older Honda cars (like I have a 94-97 GSR ECU) with less sensors. Hondata is a program that allows engine management which is ran through an OBD1 ECU.

Re: ATTN: Jan
I never thought about a ITC but it might work. I know the DSM guys love it but I think the best bet is a BTM if you don't go hondata or power FC. I am switching to a 12:1 FMU and missing link on the 450s with no BTM. on that set up with race gas the guys at inline pro trapped at 128mph on stock internals so I am goin to give that a shot till the end of the summer

Re: ATTN: Jan
You must be running a lot of boost to need that much fuel, I run 440s with vafc and no FMU with a modified stock regulator to bring the fuel pressure down, and have too much fuel at 8.5 psi, I can't imagine having the FMU, I'd have gasoline squirting out of the tailpipe. Tell me more about your setup.

Re: ATTN: Jan
Hate to go so off topic, but that's how those JDM flamethrowers work, they adjust the injector pulsewidth to the point that you literally do have fuel at the tailpipe and then use an ignitor to light it and WHOOOOOOSSSSSHHHHH! a 10 foot flame. A little risky for me, but looks cool. I'd like to pull in front of a Mustang and give him a taste of that flame (only in my fantasies), I think that's why they are illegal.

inline pro head gasket and block gaurd is how I run a lot of boost. then the FMU and missing link will go on. I will run like 14psi daily. you don't trim the fuel as far as the hack. it apparently works very well

Erik, you throw flames out your wastegate exhaust out the bumper don't you? My buddy has his DSM bumper done just like yours and at night it throws flames out the side, very cool looking, though that is also at 22lbs of boost....
Thanks, Matt

Naw man my boost is only 4.5 to 5 psi so no flames.....yet
Anyway yeah an OBD1 ECU with VTEC would work. I'm not running a Hondata yet so I got the P72 (little more money then the P28) But if I was starting over I would have saved a little more and just got the P28 and the Hondata w/boost from the get go :hammer head:
