s2000 cat
s2000 cat
I was told that a S2000 cat will bolt directly to the ITR catback and will allow the JDM header, or DC sports JDM header to bolt up without modification due to it's larger size, also the S2000 cat will flow more than the ITR? Can anyone confirm or dis-confirm this for me?
Thanks, Matt

Re: s2000 cat
I dunno about the entire cat but to bolt the JDM header to my test pipe, I had to use an S2000 donut gasket. I don't think it would flow any better as the S2000 also has to meet stringent emissions with its cat, as well.
Re: s2000 cat
I am looking for a nice aftermarket cat to bolt onto my car. I want to get the JDM style DC header or the OEM JDM header and I heard that the S2000 is a direct replacement since the collector on the JDM is 2.5 and won't bolt to the stock ITR cat. I figure I may as well get a better performing cat while I'm getting the header and someone said the S2000 worked good.....
If it does not then who makes a nice aftermarket cat that will make the JDM header a direct bolt in affair....I don't want to screw around with welding and having to fabricate as I want to do this in my garage at home...

Re: s2000 cat
Wanna buy mine? I have an OBD-II compliant hi-flo cat (it's got the rear bung for the O2 sensor) that I just have sitting around. I bought it from Hybrid Garage but they were so slow on shipping, I wound up putting in a test pipe instead. They promised that it would fit with a JDM header and 2.5" exhaust on an ITR. I say this because I hadn't had a chance to test fit it.
I'll send it to you for $90 shipped

Re: s2000 cat
I doubt the S2000 cat would fit properly. I know the donut gasket is the same and it would properly bolt up but the flange for the S2000 cat is angled. The whole cat is angled towards the centre of the car while the header is on the passeneger's side. Wish I had a pic...

Here is a Picture of what you're talking about. I amm sure you could get it to work but it would involve some cutting and welding.L8apex wrote:I doubt the S2000 cat would fit properly. Yes exactly what I'm talking about. But I think they were looking for a bolt-on solution. I considered the S2000 cat myself until I saw it. BTW nice model. Tamiya? And your rear tires are mounted backwards.

LOL Yeah thanks. It's a Tamiya. Great Model I have three of them cause of the Detail, but nothing compares to the Little Engine I was planning to put in there.
But back to the Subject at hand. What about a OBD2 Spec High Flow Cat from an after market company? I know there is one that will make a custom length. Sorry I can't remember the name of the place but I think it is this one http://store.hybridgarage.com/store/hgr ... 1-01-00001

Yeah the Carsound cat from Hybridgarage is what I have on now on my JDM ITR header. They will make custom lengths for diffferent hybrids but they also have a lot of applications. Used to have nice-fitting T1R test pipe but took that off recently.
