ever take off your door panels?

Post by PY 01-0972 »

I need to replace a faded window switch bezel and was wondering if anyone had taken there door panel off. is there just the screws on the
front and on the door escrusion or do i need a special tool to take out
clips in the bottom and sides. also do the clips if any break easily. how
would you rate the difficulty on this job. thanks in advance for any info.

Yea, I have. It's really straight forward, just search for all the screws, taking them out as you go. You'll miss at least a few (they hide them well). Pull on the inside panel until it starts to come away when you think you've got them all. Those clips don't 'really' break (unless you're stupidly rough with them), but they just rip off when you pull. I'm assuming it's electric windows? No problem there, but if not, just pull the window knob hard once. It's got a rounded clip attaching it which just pops out and back in.

'Really' straight forward, just time consuming.

I hope I'm even talking about the same thing.
