Expo4 Nightlife?

Post by LT6916 »

What's going on Saturday night when the track closes? I'm asking because I'm bringing a friend, and I'd like to show him a good time. Are a lot of people getting together and partying or what? We should plan a big party or gathering in a bar.

BTW...I'm staying at the "official" ITRCA hotel.

The banquet is on Saturday night. You can expect about 7:00pm till 11:00pm at the Banquet. Then everyone is on their own. last year the bar at the Hotel was packed. Then some guys took a run to a gentelmans club. Hopefully the guys driving won't stay up too late.

As much as I hate to say it, getting hammered the night before and driving the next morning is not the greatest idea; especially if one has never attended a HPDE before. You will need to be at 10/10ths, mind and body.

I am far from experienced(driving wise that is!), but I do know that a heavy night drinking makes the morning all the more harder. 6am comes before you know it, and grandpa does not like to wait. :P

Spectators have it made in a way, they can get hammered and get into trouble all night long, while some of us need to exhibit self-control and remember why we're attending this event in the first place.

So, when's the non-driving expo?

There is a Horse Track & Casino in Charles Town. As long as you are gambling the beer is free. Problem is they only come around about every 20 mins and the only beer they give for free in natural light. Also i think the horses run on Fri & Sat night and they only have slot machines in the casino. No table games.
