Quick question about Fuel Filters

Post by 40calpal »

What's the manual say how often u need to replace u'r fuel filter? U know how those dickheads at like Jiffy Lube always try to get u to replace u'r fuel filter and crap every 6k miles? I hate bringing my cars there b/c they're so annoying.

Oh BTW i don't take the R to places like that, just the daily drivers.

The manual tells you (not "u" ) to change it every 60K miles or 4 years, whichever comes first.

If you don't have an owner's manual, you should get one - and if you ever work on your own car, you should get a service manual, too. The maintenance schedule appears in both of them. You can buy them here.

When i checked the owners manual i did not see any reference to the fuel filter, although I could have missed it.

Mine looked like chit when i pulled it out @ 61K - http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=756547 - I'd recommend a 30K interval.

I would be happy to translate if you would like to type out entire words instead of speaking in one-letter jibberish like a six-year-old child would use.

Fuel filter is in the engine bay. Fuel pump is in the tank below the back seats.
