MUGEN header question?

Post by ITRacer121 »

ok Im really interested in the MUGEN header and I know alot of you guys are running this
So I was wondering what cat did you use? I was talking to a guy locally and he said you use the JDM cat? I didnt really want to argue with him but he didnt have the header in the first place. so I come to you guys.
if you do need a JDM cat where do I get one? and does carsounds make a replica?

From what I've heard, IF you get the JDM Mugen header with the 2.5" collector, you MUST have a modified cat or a JDM cat or just buy a carsound one. The part number is 94006 from carsound which is what Anton (moderator of SHO) uses with his Spoon 4-2-1 header with a 2.5" collector and stock exhaust system.

In addition to carsound, random technologies I believe also makes a cat with a 2.5 inch receiving end. Either way, you can still use you factory cat, you just need to buy a 2.5 inch collector flange from like inlinefour.com or something. If you're in a state that does emissions, you'll need a cat, otherwise just get a test pipe. The stock cat, even the JDM cat is very restrictive, that's the only reservation I'd have about not getting aftermarket ones.

Good luck,
