How to disable daytime running lights on Canadian-spec ITR?

Post by DeanO »

I've recently purchased a 2001 Canadian-spec Type R. I was hoping to upgrade the low beam headlights to a HID system. Unfortunately, this isn't compatible with the daytime running lights.

Anyone familiar with disabiling the DRL?

Thanks,
Dean

Quote from http://www.HIDS4less.com

"There is a problem however if the DRL is installed on the set of lights that you are going to be upgrading to xenon. DRL'S run at a reduced wattage to save power. This reduced wattage does not have enough power to ignite the bulb. The solution to this is to disconnect the DRL, which most of the time is as simple as pulling a fuse, Relay or unplugging a connector."

They are probably talking about running DRL's off the HID. I have never heard of a person disabling their DRL in order to use HID on an integra. Install without fear. Remember you need to upgrade to a 15A or 20A fuse for the headlights too.

Umm, yes.

Any Canadian Integra owners have experience with this?
