Well, finally got the car tuned today. It's been long coming, and had to do some last minute work last night to get the car ready. Hondata IM gasket is installed, FPR and guage also installed along with a fresh oil change and a new set of plugs. Once she was all done last night I went to bed early knowing I was getting up this morning at 4:30.
So, get up. Get the car loaded on the trailer and leave for LHT performance in Tampa at 5:30. Traffic was ok, but damn I didn't think I was going to make it in time for my 8 am appointment. I had to stop by and see Dave-ROR and pick up the P06 ECU that Kenji prepped for my S300. Big thanks to both of these guys, because without you 2, today would have never happened.
So, we met Dave around 7:45 (thanks again for getting out of bed and handing me that damn ECU) and off to our final stop... LHT performance in Tampa/St. Petersburg. Met up with John and right off the bat, we get to it. Unload the car, get a basemap in it, then out we go for some street tuning. Man it was funny as shit to see him sitting where the passenger seat should have been, laptop in hand making changes as we go. We get a decent basemap/street tune in there and we call up the place down the street to get the dyno. Well, that didn't work out so well. We couldn't get a hold of the guy, so after an hour or so of BSing with John and another guy at the shop (sorry, don't remember your name) we went to go get lunch. Back at LHT we go after lunch and John tells me we are good to go. He downs a sandwich really quickly and off we go to Race Related right down the street.
So, here I am, getting all excited and ready to go. We get the car on the dyno, strap her down and away we go.
So, break down is the following:
Mugen Intake
SMS Header (1 piece)
SMS Race Exhaust
Hondata IM gasket
Mugen Headgasket
Tuning done with the Hondata S300 EMS
Dyno is a Dynojet
Those are the only performance mods on the car.
On with the pics...
Street tune, getting ready to finally drive the car around, Kenji PO6 ecu used with S300 installed, laptop getting the base map ready.
Car, straped and ready to roll.
John from LHT... doing his thing!
Car on the rollers, doing a pull here...
And finally, what I know you guys just skipped to...
That's right, it was 94.94 degree's F outside, and actually it was raining too while we were doing the pulls. Total HP figure at peak... 192!!! I was so shocked that I actually hit this number. I figured somewhere in the 80's, but no, John is the man. This was also conservative. We could have leaned her out a little bit more for some more peak HP, but we decided to keep it safe. Vtec set at 4000.
All in all, we did like 11 pulls. Kept getting better and better as we kept playing.
I want to thank all of the guys involved in making this happen. Kenji for getting my ECU prepped and my harness overnighted from Cali. Kenji, I owe you a few beers for that one. Dave-ROR for waking up a bit early and passing off the ECU that Kenji prepped for me, and lastly John over at LHT. You are the man!!! 's to all of you!!!
Why I chose to put high dollar parts in my ride...

I can't believe you hit this high...I guess I should take off the old LS
DCsports header eh?
Let's plan an event together!
I'd say the DC header is holding you back a bit. I hear Jim may be selling his toda race header soon. You might want to ask him about that. Or look into and SMS or Hytech.
