already tried searchin, but cannot find an answer.
what tranny oil can i use on a stock itr transmission.
i know oem works, but is there any other, such as lucas or royal purple/redline
There are several oils you can use in your trans. Some use straight engine oil. Some use MTF, and others are running an MTF/Friction modifier mix. Is this a daily driven car or what?
<-- sticking with Honda MTF, just when I get the new transmission this Winter/Spring I'll be changing it every 6,000 miles on the dot. I used to do it at 15,000. And I still had bearing issues

hmm, I do it only every 30k miles (due VERY soon) as per dealer recommendation. But then again, Lucy ain't an ITR...
As far as what to do with a Honda, you can't go wrong with OEM unless you're far from stock (built NA, turblowed, etc). Only OEM I've found to be bad are those stupid rear wheelwell trim pieces that actually promote rusting. I just shake my head whenever I see a Honda with rusted out rear wheelwells....
I use GM Synchromesh Friction Modified Part # 12377916 (thanks Erik, its still in my phone ) I change it every other oil change. For a stock trans its overkill.... I would say every 10-15k is fine for a "driven" itr.

I change it about every other oil change as well. Not that it needs it per say, it just seems that the trans comes out about that often. Then again, I don't drive that much (5,500 miles in a year and a half).
