exhaust problem?

i have a 2001 type r and have an invidia n1 catback exhaust on it. For the past month or so, everytime i rev between 2000 and 3000 rpms in each gear, my exhaust makes this vibrating rattling noise thats super annoying. its only in that range of rpms though. i dont know whether it something vibrating or a problem with my exhaust. any help is appreciated.

sounds like classic cat heatshield to me

get a mate to crawl around on his stomach as you rev it in that range at a standstill, and see if you can pinpoint the location of the noise

but its only while i am driving. thats what gets me. i'm not exactly an exhaust expert though

can you tell where abouts the noise is coming from?

It seems to be coming from the cat or further down. it sounds like its right below me when i have my windows up. and it sounds like its at the tail end when i have my windows down. its crazy and annoying

I agree. It sounds like a heatshield problem.

I think I have just about the same problem. Do you need to replace the heat shield?

i was having trouble with mine and my rear control arm at 2500 rpm's. just a slight vibration
