(SH**!!! I'm from Slovenia and I do not know all your special words! )junkyard racer wrote:you mean, on the wheels, or the lug nuts have scratches? I hope you arent wanting scratchless lug nuts...
Wheels/rims are fine, no problem. But when he mount lug nuts on the rims with the rachet+socket... On the end almost everyone was damaged/scratched 'coz of the procedure.
How to mount them without any damage?

acutally.. Try using a socket and wrench to to tighten up your lug nuts, that works for me,, .. Minimal scratches on my skunk two lug nuts...
try to avoid using impact guns, and DO not overtighten after market extended lug nuts,, I just had a headache tryin to take off 1/8 of a lug nut off of my freinds integra...

scratched lug nuts, just a fact of life my friend.
its great that you take soo much pride in your car that you dont even like your lug nuts to be scratched, but I believe this is one thing that will just happen. Its sorta like the positive battery terminal cover that NEVER stays the way it should. It just isnt going to happen.

get a dirty old shirt that is thin.
The lug nuts must first be screwed in holding the wheel in place.
Place the the dirty shirt over the lug nut.
Use the socket and push the socket wrench down so that the shirt is between the lug nut and the socket. This will keep the lug nuts from getting scratched.
Hope this helps. It was harder writing it out than putting pictures. Damn I need a camera.
