Type R does not sell in quebec?!

Post by Chicchocrider »

Hello guys...

I've been watching how Type R are selling( not selling) since the beginning of the summer and I'm really wondering what the hell is hapenning?

For the last month and a half, There have been at least 4 R for sale and none of them are sold yet...

All 4 cars seem to be in good shap, with decent milage and withing what I would call a good price ( between 15.900 and 25.000)

My car is for sale right now.... it's been for sale for 2 weeks now, and I haven't recive any call... not one call....

So... what do you guys think about that? Is it the same thing for the rest of the country?

Here's some link so you guys could make up your mind....

I know that a lot of us in western canada will not buy most cars out east because you guys use salt on your roads.

Most of the young guys out here are not interested in front drive/na cars anymore. Seeing as how you can pick up an R32 Skyline or a JDM FD3S or two Fairlady's for around $20,000 they seem to rather do that.

Soon enough, the government will be implementing a '25 year rule' to replace the existing 15 year guideline on importing cars. I personally can't wait. There are far too many JDM/European cars around here, and they're completely ruining the market in many ways, but that's a conversation for another day......

Just hang in there and wait for the enthusiasts to find you. There are still lots of us around.

A mix of gravel and a non-caustic chemical.
I can't remember the name of it right now..........
If I suddenly remember it, I'll post it.

Calcium chloride? We use that on our driveway, doesn't damage concrete like salt will.

As mentioned above calcium chloride. We just have to watch out for those pesky flying rocks into our windshields over the winter months. That's one of the reasons we drive the winter beaters instead.

True dat, true dat.

That's why I make a decent living as a windshield installer. lol
Yay for rocks! :P

Actually I was reading that the city is planning on using more calcium chloride and less rocks starting next year. I think it's a good idea, actually. The gravel just makes a big effin' mess and the rock chips in my bumpers are killing me.

ANYTHING is better than salt tho, imo.

I think the major reason for the cars not selling is because it is more of a second car for almost all owners. Right now is not exactly the time for most people to drop $15,000 on a fun, use it on the weekend kinda car. For the luckey ones who are, they will find you.
By the way, Calcium Chloride is a salt. It has different chemical properties than Sodium Chloride(table salt), and is not as damaging to asphalt. Just thought I would chime my 2 cents in.
former owner 2001 #41, miss her and will own one again.
